2014 Broncos Season

It was good to see him not just running in a straight line right into the defence the last couple of weeks.

Kudos to Thaiday, he played well tonight and came up with a handful of really nice plays for the Kangaroos.

Let's not forget Parker either, he was fantastic off the bench for the Australians all tournament and that flick to Hayne against the Tomahawks would have to rank right up there as one of the highlights of the tournament.

Moving forward, I think we can all agree we need to see more of this Thaiday. One who isn't afraid of coming up with the big tackle or strong carry for his team.

I'm going to throw this question out there...if you were to select our fringe runners on form...would it look like...

11. Matt Gillett
12. Sam Thaiday

14. Alex Glenn

Personally, I think Glenn received a free ride in 2013 from fans. Understandable given his form in 2012, but still do you think that's a fair assessment?

A little, but he was also misused. Griffin and/or the halves just used him and Thaiday as two more props. Is it really a coincidence that he was leading try scorer and very effective in general play when Norman was giving him the ball from 5/8th? Going by how he went this year without Norman's service I don't think so.

I agree. At the moment our best backrow would have to be gillet, Thaiday and Parker.

Things change though. Like I said before hopefully Thaiday doesn't come back to Aus and pile the weight on.

I wish Thaiday played that well for us on a weekly basis he was outstanding last night hitting the line hard and coming up with some great tackles in defence. The hit on SBW was a highlight.

Our backrow for next year should be Thiaday and Gillett but Gillett's defence is a weakness but he can put on an offload very well and hits the line hard. I wouldn't take Parker out of the lock position as he has been killing it there.

Just get Papalii, all back row problems solved.

Dont get me wrong, if papa came to us wanting to move here I wouldn't want us to turn him away but I don't want us chasing after him either. Every single one of our backrowers is currently playing state of origin, for their country or both. Not to mention we have Oates on the rise and a potential switch for jack reed perhaps. We do not need anymore backrowers IMO

I would say we have backrow problems, we just need to find the right combination and be in good form.

Good interview from Gillett. Not up himself, but realistic and driven to be better.
I hope he can cut the flaws in his game and take another step towards the awesome player he can be!

Definitely think he should own that left fringe and leave the right fringe for the World Cup Thaiday. Glenn will have to live with a bench spot for now, but with Oates also pushing for a spot, it's a luxury problem for Griffin.

With a good prop rotation (hopefully we don't have injuries) with Hannant, McGuire, Kennedy and Dodds/Hala/Wallace as backup, we have the forward pack to match anyone in the comp.

The backline can only improve a lot from last year, so it's up to the spine to determine how well 2014 will be for us...

Imagine if they got rid of Hoffman, and moved Glenn to the bench in the same season? The Broncos clique would be grumpy...

**** the clique. I havenf been so mad as when I heard about that bullshit. If Glenn wants to keep doing that sort of shit he can GTFO.. And his is coming from the Vice President of the Alex Glenn fan club

I'm not disagreeing. As far as I am concerned, that is a bunch of bullshit that must be eliminated from the team. As much as I like Glenn, he is certainly not untouchable, and I'd rather a person in the team fully committed to it's success than whether or not their mates are being looked after.
