2014 Four Nations

Sorry if it's been answered, but is the PM's 13 game being shown on TV at all on Sunday?

The PNGRFL has today announced the PM13 PNG vs. Australia match will be televised in PNG live on Sunday 12th October from 3pm.

In a unique initiative the match will be shown live on Kundu and Hitron.
PNGRFL CEO Brad Tassell said there were many people to thank for getting the coverage in place for the highly anticipated match;
“Firstly I would like to thank John Mangos and his Digicel Team for making this happen and providing the live feed through to the networks. Without their assistance this would not have been possible. A huge thank you also to NBC (Kundu) and Hitron for taking the telecast for fans who cannot be at the match.”
“Lastly a big thank you to telecast sponsors Digicel, PNG LNG, Air Niugini, PNG Power, Coca-*‐Cola, Boroko Motors and the National Government. Again without their commitment we would not have been able to make this happen and it’s greatly appreciated. This is a perfect example of how far Rugby League has come in such a short time. Everyone is working together for the betterment of the game which is a great thing for a fanatical Rugby League Nation.”
Tickets for the match are selling quickly and are still available at Agmark, Kokopo. The PNGRFL are urging fans to purchase their tickets quickly and ensure a capacity crowd is at the match to support a new look, young PNG team as they take on the might of Australia.

I don't fancy a trip to PNG...will the game be replayed here in Australia at all?

Lockyer's IV Nations team
1. Greg Inglis
2. Josh Morris
3. Michael Jennings
4. Jarryd Hayne
5. Will Chambers
6. Daly Cherry-Evans
7. Cooper Cronk
8. Aaron Woods
9. Cam Smith (c)
10. Corey Parker
11. Ryan Hoffman
12. Greg Bird
13. Sam Thaiday

14. Aidan Guerra
15. Dylan Napa
16. Josh McGuire
17. David Klemmer

Wasn't Lockyer on the Queensland selection panel this year? May explain a thing or two for the critics. Personally, I thought it made for some interesting food for thought. For instance, I didn't consider Josh Morris or Will Chambers for the wing and while I suspect Josh Morris will withdraw due to injury, I could see Will being picked on there due to experience and the selections of Cronk, Smith & Hoffman would certainly boost his chances too.

I actually considered a scenario with Parker at prop, I think if they go with that option that the line-up will be something like this.

1. Greg Inglis
2. Daniel Tupou
3. Michael Jennings
4. Jarryd Hayne
5. Will Chambers
6. Daly Cherry-Evans
7. Cooper Cronk
8. Aaron Woods
9. Cameron Smith
10. Corey Parker
11. Boyd Cordner
12. Sam Thaiday
13. Greg Bird

14. Ryan Hoffman
15. Aidan Guerra
16. Josh McGuire
17. Dylan Napa

Beau Scott or Josh Papalli are also a possibility on the bench in place of either Hoffman or Guerra.

Yes.

Primarily for St. George Illawarra whenever they were at full strength but he played there against Wales in 2011.

Just looked it up to clarify that point myself, I remembered him playing there for the Dragons but not in the representative arena.

Why is Woods rated so highly? I personally don't rate him. I don't understand the hype for Cordner either, he has been horrendous in rep teams.

Because he is strong, has an offload, is a beast of a man and gets through a lot of work in highly consistent numbers each week and is one of their standout players. Same goes for Cordner.

Woods is inconsistent at this level. On his day, he can match most but then there's been other big games where he's basically been the invisible man and out-played by his bench whether it includes Klemmer, Taupau or Gavet which is embarrassing.

Cordner's career is at a cross-roads. I wouldn't say he had a bad season at all, but it wasn't as good as 2013 and Rugby League is a really fickle game where you can be a future superstar one year, overrated the next. The way I see it, Cordner will either take his game to the next level next season or he'll become just another guy who made a really good first impression before he just settled into becoming a 'good' player.

Cult's team is pretty interesting. If I was to choose between it and Unbreakable's I'd probably go the latter but in terms of creativity it's certainly interesting to ponder. For instance, I actually like the idea of playing an alternative fullback and having Hayne/GI play centres. The only part of it I really don't like is Walker playing on the wing, I get it because Johnston and Tupou still seem a little too green to play there and Walker has enough class to play for Australia but I've seen nothing to suggest he'd make a good winger and I'd be concerned about him up against other teams.

Lillyman is the next prop who I believe should come into contention, especially with Napa replacing Tamou and Scott's replacement currently unnamed.

Not sold on Tolman, especially if you've got Lillyman and McGuire supporting him - it only leaves Dylan Napa as the only player of any size coming onto the field. To me, that selection just screams of dragging your feet on Woods.

My thought on Inglis and Hayne in the centre was if they're not playing there, the centre spot will be very weak whereas the fullback spot can be filled by someone well. I figured Walker deserves a spot as well and think he'd do fine with all that class inside him. I picked Tolman because he has played well when he's on, but Woods could get the spot too. Neither would make the team when full strength though. I'd love for McGuire to start though.

They still have Jennings and Walker to play in the centres - I reckon both offer plenty of value there especially at this level.

I really don't think Jennings deserves a spot. But then again, I don't think half of the team deserve a spot this year.

I'm far from a Jennings fan but I still think he has more to offer and would rather him than a Tate, Morris or Hodges at this level.

I'd have Walker ahead of him and I definitely think he deserves to be there.

Not that I'm aware, maybe even struggling for radio coverage as well.
On another note someone may put up a full replay of it on youtube like they did with the 2012 game, but don't get your hopes up too much.
