Re: Looking Ahead to 2016

I guess there's always Union .......**shudder**

Nope.

Bathurst and Russian GP tomorrow, still four rounds of F1 after that too.

Then cricket season starts.

NFL, European soccer, NBA.

Re: Looking Ahead to 2016

NBA boys, get on it.

Re: Looking Ahead to 2016

I really don't see this teo thing going through. I think the squad we have are fine. Needing some depth in the halves since we lost every backup option. . But that's basically all

Re: Looking Ahead to 2016

The Broncos full-strength side largely picks itself at this stage. Copley comes in for the retired skipper and McGuire comes back into the side for the departing Dodds. Everything else remains the same, form pending.

What I'm interested in is...

Who will captain the side? Will they go for another stop-gap? Or will they look ahead? Personally, only one guy strikes me as a captain and he happens to be a Test captain. The rest seem too erratic for me.

Depth. All these 17 names, all look great and I love the fact we can name drop the likes of Anthony Milford, Corey Parker and Corey Oates in this side, but what if they go down, who comes in? One of the most underrated aspects of the Broncos 2015 was their ability to call up players who could do a job. With a few players departing, who will be some of the new faces to step up?

NYC. It's an end of an era for the side. A couple of those boys had played 4 seasons of NYC, starting when they had just turned 17. Looking forward, I'd be interested to see the next crop and whether we'll have a few prospects to look forward to.

Re: Looking Ahead to 2016

Even I can't claim I foresaw Blair being a future captain. But I think Bennett will reward one of the one-clubbers.

Re: Looking Ahead to 2016

Haha I always manage to forget one player when I name a team like this. Gillett on for Glenn and Glenn to the bench replacing ofa.

I don't think he will be one either. However, he strikes me as the best leader.

Yep I said that all year depth and including them; the work Bennett puts into the lower level is huge. He is at BRL games and ISC every weekend. He knows players all over the place and is constantly getting his staff to get him info.

Lewis, Miles, Langer, Tallis, Kevvie and Hodges all played for other clubs; I don't think that'll matter.

Re: Looking Ahead to 2016

Jai Arrow will almost certainly debut at some stage next year, probably when Parker is playing rep footy.
