Fairly certain now he will be added later. They are just covering their bases in case we get any surprise recruitment's or we swap coaches and they want to try to move things around

I would rather a stagnant Macca with Niko injection off the bench and Johnson calling the shots. In comparison to a slow Macca with an unorganised, 30m kicking, turnstile defender #7 Niko which is what we currently have.

Is the transparency with the top 30 squad an NRL requirement now or just a club initiative? Either way, it'd be great if they kept it up and could probably save us from some pointless arguments down the track.

Requirement, it's a definitely a step in the right direction, although it really doesn't accomplish too much given that you can remove players from the top 30 and add players to the top 30 after it's initially posted I believe.. (I highly doubt the NRL will require clubs keep a public up-to-date top 30 published at all times.)

Part of the BA between union and clubs. Each date that passes 1 March and 30 June for final lists the squads will be published the next day.

Clubs didn't want it in the past because if you let a player go he still took up a spot in your 30 but that's not the case anymore. Clubs didn't want fans to know they had three guys on their 30 that were playing for another club. Manly still had Myles on their books in 2018 I imagine Dogs and Tigers weren't keen either. You still have to pay them of course if they leave but not included in your squad.

They've changed the development players rule too- so they can play freely after June 1.

I read that Dearden will end up with the Magpies. He'll likely follow a similar path as Fifita, where he'll play out the U/18s season and there will be a push for him to play ISC.

If that's the case, either Burns or Hamilton will transition to fullback.

I wonder what the deal is with Tom's contract? NRL.com seem to be under the impression he's signed a senior deal. Meanwhile the Broncos are quite adamant it hasn't been finalised. Whatever the case is, he's got a profile on the Broncos fan-page and will be training with the senior squad this off-season. Deardon in top 30 and will play for wynnum
