Final directions

Chairman giving his final directions to the two-man jury panel.

Emphasises onus is on the NRL to prove guilt, not on Walsh to prove his innocence.

Deliberations will finally begin shortly. I expect a verdict in about 20 minutes (but who knows).
——————————————————————

If this is the case then he can’t possibly be guilty since they haven’t argued anything other than players integrity.

HA. Fucking horseshit.

Except he was stood right next to the incident. 3 out of the 4 are claiming it to be directed at Pat and the other being the ref said he blew his whistle for a different reason and has no clue what he said. Can’t see how you could possibly rule him as guilty.
Maybe. But he was there, and within earshot. I’d be inclined to believe Fifita over some bedwetting dweeb of a prosecution lawyer that is lining his pockets as much as you claim Fifita to be in the above
I'm more so talking about what Fifita is said to have said in the hearing, as quoted by Fox sports

Yeah but of course he is a smart choice he was one of the 3 blokes standing next to him and is playing for the other team. I can’t see how he isn’t a good option.

Out of all of Fifita's talk the last line is still relevant:
"I was on the field and I know what he said to Patty. He wasn’t speaking to the ref."

I wonder if Fox Sports will clip that one up 🙄🙄🙄

Yeah, he can have all those accolades and qualifications - but he still looks like he smells of piss

9.09pm – The hearing has adjourned for panel members Tony Puletua and Sean Hampstead to consider their verdict after almost three hours of evidence. If they are unable to reach a unanimous verdict Justice Bellew will use his casting vote to decide Walsh’s guilt or innocence to the contrary conduct charge.

The chair then asked him to clarify that... Fifita said he was nervous and got that wording wrong, and then corrected himself.

Fox not bothering to outline that in their snippet... even though it was effectively disregarded from the case

it is pretty impressive. He is a Silk, appointed only after a relatively short time at the Bar. All up about 19 years as a lawyer. First class honours in a Masters at Cambridge is also fairly impressive.

I would hate to think what his daily rate is.

And? It’s a hiccup but he sided with Reece of course the poor **** was nervous who ever thought he was bright. The **** put himself in the firing line for what’s right, can guarantee nobody would be putting there reputation on the line if he said that to a ref, poor career choice and I would think very poorly of Reece if he would even let them say that. Better having a bloke who has no business to be on a zoom call stuttering the wrong thing backing Reece up than not at all. He finished it off by saying “I meant Patty, the ref was standing behind him” that’s not in-admissible.
