Those first 5 games.... 3 or more wins and they will be doing well.
There's exactly zero games these guys should be going into doubting whether they can win. It was us and Panthers alone at the top last year and this year could well be similar (though we both will come back slightly and some others may lift - also pending injury etc).

Roosters in LV - decent W
Rabbits at Suncorp - tight W
Panthers in Penrith - we have payback to give... decent W
Cows at Suncorp - solid W
Storm in Melbourne - the curse is broken, they're our bitches from now on since the finals last year, for a good while until we even up those fucking atrocious stats...solid W

Have some faith, these guys are hungry AF and will sweep most of the comp this year. We're losing some players but the ones who stay will also have been working on getting better, some more plays, etc etc. They've got this.

Exactly! For the first time in a long time, I am going in to 2024 expecting to win every game and not just hoping.

It will be interesting to see how many reserves Kevvie takes to LA, and whether he calls for another batch after the second preseason trial. The way I see it, the trials are switched around this season.

Normally the Manly trial is a ragtag bunch of Train & Trial and fringe players, plus a few first graders who need a run for whatever reason. The first Preseason trial is a smattering of established first graders, plus the "possibles" who are likely to get called upon later in the season. And the second is close to a full strength team.

But this year all the established first graders will be over in Los Angeles, so won't be available for the NRL trial against Manly. And maybe a few reserves, just in case. The other alternative is to take ONLY the starting team to LA, and call for the reserves after they've played against Manly. That won't give them much time to adjust to the time zone and recover, but they're unlikely to get a game anyway.

It will be disappointing if Kevvie goes with the former, as he will deprive us from seeing the next cabs off the rank. This particularly applies to Mozer, Mariner, Te Kura, Willison and Sailor. I would like to see these blokes get a game against Manly and then fly over for cover (unless they're in the starting side).

Or... it's a glorified exhibition match. The NRL might have to stipulate X number of the Top 25 play, or maybe 5 of the 10 highest paid players, who knows. But I doubt any team will risk sending their full strength squad over there. My guess is that the NRL will go with the latter (5 of the top 10 paid), so at least some of the top superstars will be on show, and they'll be surrounded with depth.

I'm expecting us to be full strength and to treat it as Round One of the Telstra Premiership, which it is. But I can see your point. I guess we won't know until the teams are named.

is 2 points on the line id be playing full strength its 2024 not 1990s lol they will be traveling in comfort and with the best sport science keeping the players healthy
Yep, unless there are visa refusals for bumping heads with Johnny Law. Reece got off with a good behaviour bond for cocaine possession, but he'll still have to declare it. Payne also got a good behaviour bond for suggesting that lady lawman suck his dick.

They might have to hire a coyote to smuggle them in across the Mexican border. Once they're in, they're fine.

It’ll be the best squad. No chance they risk the cowboys trial though so that’ll be depth players
