Anthony Seibold is no longer our coach

feed 'em @broncsgoat . i don't usually agree with your posts but I think it's amusing that there's a line of posters looking to join in the pile on but would probably be spitting chips about being bullied if the shoe was on the other foot.

psa: if you hate the guy so much... ignore him. there is a function on this forum for this reason.

the problem is not everyone does ignore him and people reply, so threads lose context and you’re almost forced to read his posts anyway. What makes it an issue is this happens in every single fucking thread because it’s the same thing over and over

so it seems like you have two choices:

ignore him and and put up with the broken convo
don't ignore him and skip over his posts

like who the **** cares that he's happy seibold is gone and thought he sucked? we're all in the same boat. if he wants to write revisionist history about himself foretelling the apocalypse of the broncos, good for him. everyone piling on him is just as bad and also derails threads.

I only trotted out the I was right line in this thread because I had just been called an embarrassment to humanity and a shit stain of a human. You may not agree with my posts, but I always try my best to attack a post and not a poster which I'm certain is within forum rules. I've now had other people sniping at me from the sidelines taking cheap shots trying to 'garnish likes'. Forgive me for celebrating Pies dismissal which was predicted by a few as much as 18 months ago, in the thread about him no longer being our coach.

The problem I have with a number of your posts, like when you said this the other day about Seibold :

"He took something that we all share a common interest in and absolutely eviscerated it. He deserves every last bit of vitriol he has received and will continue to receive."

... is that they are untrue, nasty and personal. That's not celebrating his dismissal, it's gloating over another's suffering which contributes nothing meaningful to this Forum whatsoever. No wonder there are posters on here who take exception to what for mine is effectively sadistic and without any redeeming features.

Revisionist history? That’s the biggest insult I’ve ever received

So the Broncos got rid of the coach. Now they need to solve all the "entitled" player issues. This is just as important IMO.
Recruiting some experienced players with decent leadership qualities will help with this.
I’d keep carrigan as captain over Alex ‘Michael Jordan’ Glenn too if no other captain worthy senior players are recruited.
Cam smith would be the ultimate..

I’m curious: what is the difference between a poster personally criticising and name calling a player / coach / staffer / whoever, repetitively for over a year, across almost every thread and other posters doing likewise to them?

People are entitled to their opinion, absolutely. But rarely do posters on here resort to personal attacks on others, but like I said in another thread, it’s the chickens coming home to roost.

If someone wants to play the antagonist and be warned repeatedly about it, it’s highly likely they’ll cop some flak for it eventually.

And FTR, I am not in the same boat as you. I take absolutely no joy out of Seibold being sacked. Sure, he didn’t work out and needed to go, but I don’t enjoy that fact for a number of reasons. Not least of all because it means the club I support is failing but also because, whether you like Seibold or not, the bloke worked as hard as he could at the job he dreamed of getting and failed. Why take joy in his misery?

Not a bad take from Matt Elliott on what went wrong for seibsy at the broncs.

Like I said, I don't agree with most of his posts but he's entitled to make them as long as he isn't breaking any rules. I'm not even a mod anyway so what the **** do I care? I just think it's a bit hypocritical that people jump on him for calling Seibold Pies, or a fraud but see no issue in personally attacking him? Does anyone not see the irony in this, or is it a two wrongs make a right scenario?

I wouldn't say I'm taking joy in his misery, but am I glad he's gone? You bet. He sucked as a coach here and not one player has improved under his watch. I don't give shit about him trying hard, we don't hand out participation awards here. It is cuckoo land for me that everyone was braying for blood for weeks and now that it's happened it's oh poor anthony?

The club has written to Phil Murphy about his honest comments. This must be the accountability we keep hearing about.

The accountability has been in force all season. Apparently writing letters is the clubs way of professionally handling the runnings of their football operations because they don’t like ‘confrontation’

Here is just one of many letters that had been left in the players lockers:

Maybe the players just didn’t check their lockers [emoji848]

You simply have to look at WHY you were called that.
You want us to forgive you for celebrating Siebold's sacking? Sorry mate but you are delusional, as there is nothing to forgive. There isn't a single Broncos fan by my count that isn't delighted his reign has come to an end.
By all reports, Siebold is a good guy who gave it his all, but failed dismally. We are all celebrating his departure.
The issue here is that Siebold has serious personal/family issues on top of the coaching debacle, and then was viciously slandered on social media.
And you pop up and say he deserves it all.
There is nothing wrong with wanting our seriously underperforming coach gone. There is everything wrong with saying he deserves the vitriol coming at him.
If you can't see that then there simply is no hope for you.
I am aware that sometimes the written word can be misconstrued, and sometimes emotions can get the better of people.
It's possible you didn't really mean that he deserves everything he is getting, and we have have all misunderstood you.
That be the case please say so.
But if not, and you really did mean what you said, then you honestly are an embarrassment to humanity and you can't blame anyone for thinking it.
Over to you.

It’s hypocritical to condone someone personally attacking another and then defend / support that same person when they’re called out on it. With that in mind, perhaps I am also being hypocritical. It’s also a chicken and egg situation.

I also don’t care for two wrongs making a right. A sure way to not be personally attacked on here is to not do so yourself. Again, chicken and egg. I can’t recall anyone personally attacking me (maybe they have?), because I do my best to ensure my criticisms of players etc. are performance based. I also do my best to ignore ridiculous posts and avoid posting about other posters, but sometimes I fail. I am not alone there.

I recall B4L (sorry if it wasn’t you) made a post recently about when they first came on here and behaved like a bit of a dick and how they got treated as such. As soon as they changed their tune a bit, people warmed up to them. Funny that.

Now this isn’t a popularity contest, people can have opposing views. Indeed, they’re absolutely necessary. But how and when you deliver them is critical. Anyway, I could go on and on, but it won’t achieve anything.

I look at the Seibold situation like this: he did his best but it wasn’t even close to good enough. But he didn’t fail because he didn’t give it his all or because he intentionally wanted to ruin the joint. People make mistakes and this one was a huge mistake on many fronts. But like I said, I don’t take joy from his or the clubs misery. He isn’t a bad person, he didn’t murder or rape someone. He failed at a job, like many of us have and will. But I certainly don’t get my jollies from that so won’t be celebrating his demise and gloating about it.

And that is perhaps why I make the posts about other posters that I do. I have nothing more to add to the conversation.

I doubt he quit.

This is a PR exercise.

Of course he didn’t quit because if he did wouldn’t that mean he isn’t entitled to a payout if he leaves on his own accord?!?

This club must think it’s fans are as thick as bricks.

Yeah mate that was me and I was a right **** to everyone and a thin-skinned wanker on here for about 2 years when I first joined, a bit of a dick would be putting it mildly. People respond to you based on how you act and you can't expect it to change overnight but as I learnt if you stop being a **** people will stop treating you like that.

I carried on like a right twat for years with Cult and yourself. **** it’s good to be over that shit. After all, we’re all just people trying to survive in the real world.

Yeah you were an arsehole.

Just joking mate :)

Mate, we’ve all made mistakes and look back at ourselves and shake our heads!

I would hate to meet myself of 10 years ago (TBF, the current version isn’t much of an improvement 😂).

I suppose it’s just part of growing up, no matter your age 👍

How funny is this?

I've got a mate who knows nothing about sport. I go mountain bike riding with him every few days. I went this morning. He asks me if I know who Anthony Seibold is. I said yeah, of course (even put on Seibolds voice). He said that Anthony's daughter goes to the same school as his daughter. They are in the same class. Apparently the school is a bit of a pain to get in and out of for pick up, so my mate parks in the local shopping centre and just walks around the corner to pick his daughter up.

Yesterday arvo he gets a tap on the window just as he turns up. It's Seibold. He asks my mate if he could sit in his car and if my mate could get Seibs daughter too, because he spotted a camera crew out the front of the school. My mates like "umm yeah, but why are you worried about a camera crew". Seibs explains. My mate didn't even know who Seibold was haha. Has seen him at school and school functions and didn't even know he was the broncos coach. So he tells my mate about being the broncos coach, and my mates says that must be a good job, and then he asks my mate if he even watches the news, as he just got sacked.

The funniest part, he then asks my mate if he's keen for a beer, probably happy to just be with someone who doesn't really give a shit about his football role, my mate declines and says he had to take his daughter somewhere, but would be keen to catch up in the coming days, but that he's off the grog at the moment, but would happily just have a <insert aptly named soft drink variety here>.

So I filled my mate in on all the goings on with Seibs, especially the rumours, given what my mate said to him. I told him to tell Seibs I'd happily shout him a beer with all the money I've made betting against the Broncos over the past 10 weeks.

It's funny about my mate not knowing, but also sad the camera crews would decide to try and turn up to Seibolds daughters school, when he'd just spent an hour fronting up to the media and answering questions that morning.
