Wow, good reply. Your retorts are exceptional.

FWIW, I'm not a storm fan. I'm just the type of person who can appreciate a quality team.

While I agree the storm may sometimes push the boundary of the games rules a little too far, how can you say they aren't playing within the spirit of the game when there is no clear definition of exatcly what this is. No set rules equals a subjectional viewpoint, clearly of which ours differs.

If the Broncos were imploying such innovative tactics, I'm sure most here wouldn't have any issue with it at all.

Tall poppy syndrome much?

I'm glad you liked my retort, I don't remotely care, I'm expressing my dislike of the storm and their fans, as the title of the thread implies, if you don't like it, piss off.

What do you want me to do, write a treatise on what playing in the "spirit of the game means"?

The point I'm trying to make is that I shouldn't have too, its a gut feeling on what is and isn't in the spirit of the game, personally, holding a player down using techniques to personally injure them outside of a normal tackle is not in the spirit of the game. These tactics show contempt for the game and its viewers. Call it tall poppy syndrome, I don't hate a winner, I just don't like the storm.

Seems like Broncos fans just can't handle the fact thier team is no longer up there with the best teams in the NRL, so they have to take it out on the team that arguable replaced them as the games premiere team.

No, if you read the thread title, it is a thread where people can get together and pay out a team that is quite strongly disliked in the NRL - typical Storm fan, thinks there is no-one better ever

again, piss off if you don't like it

hope you were able to enjoy those grand final losses, as a broncos fan, I wouldn't know what that's like [icon_razz1

This is my whole point. I don't understand why they are so strongly disliked. They play within the rules of the game, but becuase they do it better than anyone else people start finding reasons to dislike them. All I can assume is other clubs fans are jelous of melbournes recent success.

Haha, the irony.

1. Slater is a grub
2. Bellamy is a whinging tosser
3. Inglis beats women
4. Smith is a Grappler and a whinger
5. Brett Finch
6. Anthony Quinn dirty grub

What is to like about the scumbags that are Melbourne.

might I add:

Matt King played for Melbourne
The way the team behaved after the 2006 grand final loss - class
um, the grapple tackle, the "chicken wing", the "crusher" tackle
the constant complaining - oh, we lose player come SOO time, welcome to the club
the whinging when things don't go their way - see interview with Finch post Titans game, no personal responsibility, we lost because of a bad call, typical

All good points... but then take these reason into liking them

Bloody entertaining to watch most of the time (this year has been a bit of a grind however)
Have unearthed some major QLD talent
Have contributed to many many QLD wins through the likes of Smith, Inglis, Slater, Johnson, Folau, Crocker, Kafusi
They arent a NSW team, so thats always good, hell i love canberra and NZ for the same reason
Gives u guys something to vent about

Firstly, entertaining? Hardly. They are entertaining maybe 5-6 times a year when they put a huge score on a shit team, otherwise they are just clinical and boring. (See Dragons game 2 weeks ago).

Secondly, from a NSW perspective, points 2 and and 3 obviously don't count, in fact they do the opposite and point 4 is probably mute from a NSW point of you. So half of the points you made for liking the Storm would not benefit any NSW fan, so I hope you can see why they are disliked amongst the whole NRL community.

Mate, broncos are hated amongst the nrl community. That comes with success, i can see why ppl hate melbourne, i just think its funny to see some of the "reasons" they are hated so much, when it pretty much boils down to jealousy. Ask any person that hates the broncos why they hate them... they never say "coz they are so good". They will come up with a list of reasons probably very similiar the reasons ppl hate melbourne lol,

For every matt king they have, we have a hodges afterall!

Yeah I know, successful teams will always be hated. But the Storm have taken it to a new level in the past 5 years, and the reasons ddd gave were spot on.[/quote:kw470yxx]

No doubt, and if thats why they are hated then i am not going to argue, but its just those that hide the jealousy with those reasons that annoy me, much the same as ppl who hates broncos "just because".

Ive heard heaps of reason why my mates hate the broncos ranging from them being responsible for the decimation of the Brisbane league comp, big egos in players like hodges, hunt etc, grubs in hodges and previously ennis. Ppl will find reasons

I don't understand the jealousy part though, not from a Broncos fan perspective anyway. What exactly do the Broncos fans need to be jealous of? We've been there, done that. We have 6 premierships, 19 consecutive finals and we've blooded more superstars than any other team in the last 20 years.

Not to mention, we beat them in a grand final.

Exactly. No one seemed to hate the storm before they became so successful.
