ARL bans Israel Folau from Origin III

The more I think about this the more angry I get. How the hell can the Chairman of NSWRL be the chairman of ARL as well. Talk about a conflict of interest.

Geoff Carr was on the radio & he said the QLD solicitors have said it's a Restraint of trade.

So it looks like Izzy will be playing in the 3rd game. (if he is fit)

Wasn't Gasnier picked after he said he was going to Union.

Nope. He was the face of the RL World Cup, until he signed with union. After that he was looked over for selection for Australia.

Still played for NSFails.

Only because he announced that he'd signed on July 15, well after the Origin series had ended.

Phil Gould just said on the Sunday Roast the NRL policy should change to say that "any player that signs to play outside the NRL (be it AFL, RU, ESL) should be paid out for the rest of their contract and he is then not allowed to play another NRL game, whether it is Origin, test match or even another club NRL game

however Craig Wing announced before Origin 3 that he had signed to play for a Japanese Rugby club. he was then selected to play for NSW.

So, why should it be any different for Israel Folau. is it just that he plays for QLD

[eusa_doh What a stupid idea

Goose at his best.

Meanwhile the player goes and trains with his new team and has a nice holiday.

That would just be rewarding the players, heck it would entice them to sign elsewhere lol.
In any case I don't see why we feel the need to "punish" players for changing code, how about instead of thinking about punishment we think of incentives to keep them? Just a thought.

Wrong again. Wing made the announcement after game 3, on July 21.

This is the stuff fumble ball would like to keep out of the news!

Love the poll at the side:

Who do you think will make the better AFL player?

Hunt

Falou

They missed the third option - "neither, they will both be crap"
