Australia vs India - Test Series

Siraj should be personally refunding their tickets at a bare minimum. He should also be apologising to them.

All the nupties that have come out on twitter to condemn those boys behaviour should be ashamed of themselves. There is no room for racism in sport. By the same token cancel culture should also be called out for what it is when we see it.

There will be no shortage of quality lawyers happy to represent those individuals.

He'll probably just claim a misunderstanding or some such rubbish and live will go on.

Nope.

Defamation doesn’t work like that. You can’t just say “sorry I published what I thought you said”.....

He’have to offer a public apology. Even then I think he’s in real trouble.

I’d give some real thought to suing him.

Trigger warning

If they were cleared why isn’t it all over the news like when they were being called racists by the news?

If it were me that had those claims thrown at me and I was taken out of a very public place and then media fucking branding me.....ooooooo boy, I’d empty my bank account into suing the **** out him and anyone who painted me as a racist!

You can expect they’ll be issuing apologies in the next day or so...they’ll need to ensure that the aggrieved is happy with the terms...

From a supposed reputable media outlet. This is not analysis, this is 100% opinion.

To me I find it unacceptable that siraj lost the plot and couldn’t handle a little bit of chat from the crowd claiming racism or even abuse which both of them it was not... to stop the game for 10 minutes and have every single news source and cricket fan ridicule the alleged racists all for it to be found that nothing wrong had been done is sad especially since it is a professional athlete who spat the dummy after a comment such as welcome to Sydney... make all that fuss ca and other organisations made fool out of themselves apologising in desperation and hope of no lash back on them... now it’s time for the Indians to apologise to those men that shouldn’t have had to been dragged through this

And people say the ABC is one of the last bastions of reliable, trustworthy and impartial news sources in the country.

Give me a break

You expect any better from the A(ustralia) B(ashing) C(orporation)?

Bumrah and Siraj both heard the same thing and both made the complaint on Saturday they were told to come to the the umpires straight away not wait until stumps. They did the right thing yesterday.

Those people in that area were questioned- that's a good thing not a bad thing- it should get sorted out. I refuse to believe welcome to Sydney was the only thing said all day. India are claiming that someone said brown dog.

How's it any different to when Roy made a complaint on something he thought he heard and Singh was found not guilty- I don't believe Hansen did a great job but that's not this issue. Roy wasn't a liar and should be sued- he heard something or thought he did so brought it forward.

If you think you've heard something make a complaint and sort it out.

About time he got mentioned. Sproj can’t think of anyone but his spank bank being in the side. Guarantee that Neser would’ve done more overall than Green as the all-rounder.

Not batting he wouldn't have been able to. Neser's batting isn't strong, one 100 since 2010 isn't enough to be a Test all rounder and that was this summer so nine summers of nothing much. He makes a great contribution to the Bulls and I am a massive fan but he's not a Test all rounder.

At this stage he could only be picked as a bowler on his Bulls' form.

Bowling all-rounder instead of Green's batting all-rounder.

Neser deserved selection following his 18-19 season.

You won't know if he never gets a chance. A lot worse players have gotten a cap

He bowls about 30 overs a game for the Bulls does Australia need that? I think we are more in need of a number six that hits 40 runs than Neser's 166 wickets.

I am happy for him to play would love it, but I don't think it can be at six. He doesn't even bat at six for the Bulls, he's at eight.

Move Paine up to 6 and he can be 7. A long tail granted, but Green can even push up to five if Head/Wade/whoever can’t do anything to claim it.

He can bowl 15-20 and be our swing bowler

Symonds didn’t get sued because the Indians would have lost in Court - Only Hansen believed the stupid story they trotted out....

Big fan of Neser I'm just not sure weakening our batting for the sake of Neser is worth it.

Granted Green is better than any #5 I can think of and I'm not against moving him up, I just don't think Paine is anywhere near good enough to bat 6 in test cricket. His batting has improved a lot in the last 18 months but all his best innings have come as a counter puncher with an aggressive mindset. I'd be seriously worried with him walking to the wicket at 4/80.

India can get away with having Pant/Saha at 6 because they both average 40+ with the bat in FC cricket, so does Jadeja at 7. All three have test tons. Paine averages 29.65 in FC cricket with 3 tons in his entire FC career while Neser averages 25.47.

I think for now the answer has to be one of Head/Wade/Maxwell until another contender makes a strong case in shield cricket. The only other alternative I see would be moving Puco down the order (which I think will inevitably happen) but at this point we don't really have any obvious contenders to open and he needs time to settle into his role anyway.
