Our attack isn't popgun and that is why Ponting is a crap captain, all the guys we have at our disposal are of a high quality and know how to bowl at this level. He waits to long to change things, never gives his spinner enough time to make something happen (it is like he expects Warne like results from everyone) and his field placings are often mind boggling.

Cant beleive Bollinger got in trouble for kicking the ground. What cant we show frustration on the field anymore?

Ponting wasting the 2 referalls might have had an influence as we did get some dodgy calls after that.

I am not saying he should be picked, but Australia are missing Brett Lee's ability to mop up the tail. A regular occurence of Australia's bowling over the last year or so is the opposition tail enders posting regular scores of 30+. Brett Lee is no world beating bowler by any means, but his pace always took care of the tail enders.

We dont bowl to the tailenders properly tho. Aim at the stumps none of this short crap. The all go the swing now so no point bowling short outside off etc as you'll go for runs

Although Lee sometimes aimed for the stumps when bowling to the tail, he was a heavy user of the bouncer and "following" the tail ender as he evaded the short pitched bowling by veering off the pitch. He's more guilty than most of the unnecessary short-pitched stuff to the tail.

He was a loser most of the time.

Yes, but he usually followed up a couple of softening bouncers with a yorker on the stumps, and very often got them bowled.

Siddle seems excellent at just repeatedly bouncing a tail ender or trying to induce an edge...most tail end batsmen aren't good enough to nick a good ball.

+1 I hate how he is referred to a former spearhead when he was never the best bowler in the side. He averages over 30 and can't bowl over 140 anymore. Bowls way to many no balls as well.

I deadset choked when i read that. Another Hilditch special. Steve Smith is Cam White version 2.0 with the associated improvements. His batting is drastically better IMO whilst his bowling is only marginally. Still bowls 2 bad balls an over, the kid will get absolutely taken apart in a test match if he plays. There is just something about leggies with high arm actions that I don't like. Kumble is the exception.

The only thing I can think of is that they are pretty confident Hauritz will play, or they would have played the extra quick instead of Krezja.
