Johnson doing very well also with 3/42 ...

Go the West Australian [icon_non finishing with 4/62 icon_thumbs_u

He is only moving to WA because his missus lives over there and she swallows!!!

Great to see him doing well after all the setbacks he has had...

Aussies in strife in the second innings... 5/128 we lead by 198.

Haddin and Watto to the rescue.

I still think the draw is the most likely result from here. We will bat for no longer than an hour tommorrow (just get the lead up to 300 or so) then declare and try to roll them. But I think it is unlikely seeing as we lack a quality spinner

Clarkey to take 5 wickets and bowl the Indians out!!! Great little partnership from Watson and Haddin really saved us last night..

poor umpiring from Koertzen.

I've seen blind, deaf, mentally deficient corpses give better decisions than this guy.

He was taking bribes from both sides so he couldn't give out anything.. Bloody Souff Affricans

Clark is officially out, Peter SIddle to debut.

I've never seen Siddle play but Noffke and Bollinger should definitely be ahead of him in pecking order.

Huge blow having Clark injured... Siddle has only played 12 first class games ffs how can they pick him. I hope he does well but I have my doubts..

Siddle went alright in the warm up match. I would have rather seen Bollinger in there, but oh well.

I'm still annoyed that Hilfenhaus was overlooked. Look at how well he is bowling atm!

Noffas has been just as good! They tore their respective opposition apart in the recent sheffield shield fixture.

I have to agree with Beadsy here though? How the heck can they pick a bloke with hardly any state experience over seasoned and battle hardened bowlers like Bollinger and Noffas.....and even Hilfy.

Its INSANITY!!

Ya know, I remember they said a similar thing about 15 years ago when this bean poll of a bowler from country NSW, with only a few first class games under his belt, got called up to make his debut.

His name was Glenn McGrath.

Just saying.

He is no pidge! He cant even throw, he had to teach himself to throw left handed because he cant with his right because his shoulder is farked

Aus already has a left arm quick in the team. They probably only picked Siddle because he is a right armer in the Clark mould. Bollinger is a lot like Johnson and two left armers can become predictable. Lee and Siddle are very different even though they are both right handers, and that creates that little bit more uncertainty.

Doesn't explain the omissions of Noffke or Hilfenhaus though, who are also right arm bowlers. Not quite the same style of bowler as Clark, but still good fast-medium right armers.

Ooh aah was a freak but maybe the kid will step up a gear at the international level and mature as a bowler and be the quick the aussies need at the moment. I hope he swings the ball that is what the Aussies so desperately need at the moment. Hilfy was garbage last year that is why he didn't get a look in IMO. It is a crime that Noffers isn't there although his age may have something to do with his omission ...

Australia seem too reluctant to blood anyone under 25. For fast bowlers that's hard, because realistically most are only going to be at the peak of their powers until 30 at most.

Too much of a dad's army feel to the Aussie team. I mean Michael Clarke, Mitchell Johnson, Shane Watson and Cameron White are the only ones who played in the first Test under 30. And all of them are 25+.

At least Siddle is 23.
