Too much of a dad's army feel to the Aussie team. I mean Michael Clarke, Mitchell Johnson, Shane Watson and Cameron White are the only ones who played in the first Test under 30. And all of them are 25+.
At least Siddle is 23.
But the advantage of debuting players late is that they're usually well rounded players by the time they make into the team. Hussey and Clark are good examples. Cricket players are generally older anyway, most don't retire until their mid-30s or even later.
And I wonder if Kumble was pushed?
