That escalated quickly. "carry on" about his depression. Get a grip.
The point of my post was Barba has a 10 x greater upside than Boyd, given the chance. Boyd's overrated. We've had a capable "consistent" fullback (Hoffman) for 4 years, who has been the scapegoat or hamstrung by the lack of a genuine 5/8 since Lockyer's departure, probably unfairly. But that's another discussion.
So we get rid of an attacking fullback (Barba) and sure up the best rookie 5/8 in the game (Milford). So we're back to square one of decent halves and no Karmichale Hunt to play Bennett's second man play (let alone a decent forward pack to lay the platform, even moreso sans Hannant and Kennedy).
Welcome to 2010.
I pray and hope the Bennett return works. I think it's a mistake on principle, shortsighted and driven by external forces to the club, who don't really know anything about football. I will be gladly proven wrong and be the first to eat my hat.
Barba's likely axing is collateral damage to the "Bennett way", and I think it sucks.
