BHQ Countdown: Most Loved/Least Liked Players Reveal thread

Whitchurch looked like he had a long career ahead of him in 2012, only to suffer a debilitating back injury that plagued him for the rest of his career. I'm not sure if he suffered it before or during that awful grand final performance either, but I remember that along with Caleb Timu and Corey Oates that the decision to let Te'o walk to Souths made sense.

Like Copley, I believe he made some divisive comments on social media that put fans off-side. Apologies if I have the wrong guy but I believe they were tied to some religious view.

I dont remember Aaron making any comments like that, but he is religious so i could see it happening.

Caleb Timu, there's another guy that had massive wraps on him and went nowhere. Did he even play first grade?

For some reason, this makes me think of Corey Anderson? too. He looked like he was going to be a long term fullback and many of us were gutted when we lost him. How wrong we were.

He was referring to Fail Dropley, who I believe is a bit of a Trump fan boi.
I was referring to both of them, but where Dale's may have been political, Aaron's had something to do with his religious background.

You mean Carlin Anderson?

Carlin Anderson, the Jets extremely skillful fullback. A lot of fans had him pencilled in on the wing before he suffered an injury in the pre-season and just never got a look in.

Caleb returned around the same time but once Brisbane secured Pangai Jr early that created a logjam so he found himself at the Reds. He actually had a break-out season there and was a fan favourite before he signed with an International club.

If Caleb could have reproduced his 2012 season, he would have been in the Broncos 17. However his form tapered off and he decided to go on his mission at the end of the season.

Carlin was just about to get his shot and ended up with a smashed jaw iirc and that was pretty much it

Reminds me of how good Kahu looked when he was young. An exciting spine player who only managed a career as a serviceable outside back.

Lacey, any guy that’s 2 ft tall and plays Lee he has to be a fan favourite and then factor in he played hooker too, a worthy liked player. Then, given he threw his career away through his own stupidity, really takes some gloss off the love in unfortunately.

I remember at the time, Dodds was a bit of a plodder in a team full of stars, but he got better as he went and then suddenly moved elsewhere and disappeared before coming back for a season but not getting a game? That happened didn’t it?

Dodds was close to my favourites list along with Nick Kenny. Bargain props that did their job with little appreciation (people are only starting to appreciate the player type with Jensen).

Dodds was massive in our 2015 run in the absence of McGuire.

I thought Dodds was a bit of a nothing player early on, but a few years down the line he started to make more of an impact. Could hit hard in defence, from memory.

Lacey was great to watch, the little nugget - a real bit of spark from dummy-half. He fucked up though, along with John Te Reo. Would have been a handy squad player for us otherwise, I reckon.
