It would just be confusing if he wasn’t the coach’s son though. This no name who had played a dozen games by the age of 28 suddenly becomes a mainstay and must pick while his competition drop like flies around him. It wouldn’t make any sense.

This is such a weak argument. I want Billy to succeed, why wouldn’t I? I’ve given him his dues when he’s played well. I’ve even said I’d be happy for him to play 20-30 minutes off the bench.

I am just honest in my opinions and try to be objective. I don’t say a player is good just because he plays for the team I support and I don’t say a player is bad just because people think…I’m not even sure what you think my anti-Billy bias is? That I hate dads I guess?

I’ll give you a perfect opportunity here, point blank so you can’t deflect.

Provide a compelling case for why Billy should be in the top 17 and deserved his 2 year contract extension, other than “there is no one else” or “we have to fill our top 30”.

And as for your tired old true fan rubbish; there was a time when almost every Broncos supporter wanted Bennett’s head for flicking Wally Lewis.

This is pretty counterproductive language tbh. This type of post is what makes the Billy convo go on for ever.

I would’ve happily just said it once if others didn’t keep making silly claims like this.

Im not at all busting my pants over Tyson. I have even said I don’t think he is anything more than a serviceable hooker. It is much like how people would defend Tesi and act like I thought Martin was some amazing fullback.

It is just obvious that Tyson is competent at the dummy half role and Billy is not.

I’m sure I’m clumping in a bunch of different posters together but I am genuinely surprised at what counts as controversial opinions on this board and it makes me really wonder how well some of you understand the fundamentals of the game.
