Maybe he should - after last years performance he could do with some advice
What did Wayne used to say? The day you start listening to the mugs is the day you end up sitting with them?
Maybe he should - after last years performance he could do with some advice
Then getting rid of gamble and Turpin makes no sense. 2 players that gave their all……Dearden too.I don’t log in to BHQ looking for a few likes, I’m not really a bandwagoner like yourself.
You asked me why he deserved an extension and in the time since you asked that you’ve conceded he gives it his all, much like the nepotism bandwagon committee (NBC, not the American news broadcaster) conceded he was the best option at the club.
Maybe that’s why he got an extension? We’re not the team of the 90’s anymore, we need players who give their all, haven’t had 17 of those in the last few years. We can’t waltz out genuine superstars like we once could. I know a lot of fans have an elevated sense of entitlement and think we should be able to just flick them off and sign the hottest talent but this isn’t European football.
Legit question; did you actually read my post?
You're deflecting.......Then getting rid of gamble and Turpin makes no sense. 2 players that gave their all……Dearden too.
So now we’re giving players contracts / extensions because they try hard and give it their all? Sounds good in theory, but no one tried harder than Turpin and he’s not at the club anymore.I don’t log in to BHQ looking for a few likes, I’m not really a bandwagoner like yourself.

Yea but unlike Wayne, Kev is a mugWhat did Wayne used to say? The day you start listening to the mugs is the day you end up sitting with them?

I don’t think anyone with eyes actually thinks Walters is the best option at the club. The only option, sure.
Why is that though? Why did the club get rid of Levi, Turpin and Kelly in the space of 12 months and sign, and then extend another fringe first grader in that same timeframe? We didn’t need to keep all three of them, but we could have kept one. Like I said, at absolute best it is a sideways signing. It makes no sense.
One thing we do agree on; we sure have fallen from our glory days, I just didn’t realise we’d landed at handing out contracts like participation ribbons.
I didn’t say they were better, I said they were, at worst, equal. They were also already at the club.To which I replied to?
....yes, I believe I did.
You gave no alternatives........of which were at least ...on paper, a better option.
I would love to not be rallying BW....but honestly, until we have a better option why not.....
he could work as a no.14.....over the next 3 yrs.
We all agree we need a super smart no.9.
Is Kevvie holding back Mozer because of his son....I don't think so.
Bring on the trials...bring on the first few rounds. If someone is screaming selection, amongst more than just the "Billy Walters = Kevvie Walters son = cover up of a shitcunt" posse......
let him be discussed......
Not to mention how aggressively we went after him.I didn’t say they were better, I said they were, at worst, equal. They were also already at the club.
I’ve also said, numerous times, signing Billy was a sideways movement at best, so why did we do it? We already had at least one ‘Billy’ at the club in Turpin. We also had Kelly who is a far superior footballer to Walters.
It just makes no sense and now we find ourselves in a position where he is, by default, the only option we have. It is truly mind boggling how some people are content to simply accept this without thought.

hey what? I don't remember us beating out a handful of clubs to sign him? Wasn't he out of contract anyway? Not to mention how aggressively we went after him.
"Aggressively......."Not to mention how aggressively we went after him.
Like I’ve said in other posts, Walters looked decent enough in the first 10 or so rounds but gradually became worse than Turpin 2.0, which you are right in saying had become Macca 2.0.Turpin was basically Andrew McCullough, that’s what he turned into. Initially he was an exciting player and a few fans on here thought we found one, didn’t really eventuate though. If you can say one thing about Billy (and I can appreciate how difficult it must be for you), he does look dangerous when he runs the ball.
Aside from the white shoe saga (which given how the NRL has handled worse situations since, really was a non-event), what other indiscretions am I missing from his 2 year stint with us that makes him a loose cannon? You're hard for Albert Kelly...yeah?
The more talented....yep, ticks that box
Loose as ****...yep, ticks that one too.
It can’t be too bad here, otherwise you’d be chilling over on the Titans forum talking about your own world beating rosterThis forum never fails to impress me... I go watch the cricket for an hour or two and come back to 2 more pages on Billy Walters. Captivating read.
Hard guy to dislike as he is a proper battler and had a few decent moments, but starting hooker across 2 seasons now is a bit crazy. A lot riding on Mozer and Smoothy translating their lower grades form going forward going off the off contract lists.
