What role should Billy Walters play?

if Kev got Billy a “number 1 son” card for his birthday, BHQ would argue that it had nothing to do with Kev being his dad and act like there were no other sons available.

It’d probably be the safest bet though.

After reading this thread, I doubt Kev even knows how old Billy actually is, and that’s before he gets into the semantics of when he arrived in the world or arrived.

But was this when he actually arrived at the club, or when he played?

This is a very, very important detail that should, under no circumstances, be overlooked.

It was at a moment of great change. A balance point - a fulcrum, if you will, in the timeline. A instant when, in the hearts of many, a long and desolate winter suddenly bloomed into spring - and yet in the hearts of others, it was marked by the heavy shadow of storm clouds falling over fields that had been basking in a summer sun.

But, more accurately, I reckon he was almost 28, but still technically 27.

Of all the possible debates about Billy I didn’t think how many times he’s rotated around the sun would be one of them.

Well AI just gave me this story:

It was a warm summer evening in the bustling city of Brisbane, and all eyes were fixed upon the field of play. For the great and mighty Brisbane Broncos were taking on the formidable Titans, and none could predict the outcome. But amidst the excitement and anticipation, there stood a solitary figure, watching from the stands. This was Billy Walters, an enigmatic young man who had been a fixture of the rugby league scene for as long as anyone could remember.

Though many whispered of his immortality, Billy remained a mystery, his past shrouded in secrecy. But one thing was certain, he was a player of unparalleled skill, and his name was synonymous with the Broncos. And as he watched the game, his thoughts turned to his father, Kevin Walters, the legendary coach of the team.

Kevin had always been a hard taskmaster, but under his guidance the Broncos had flourished, and Billy knew that he had much to be grateful for. As the match reached its climax, and the Broncos emerged victorious, Billy felt a swell of pride, not only for his team, but for his father too. For despite their differences, he loved the man with a fierce intensity, and he was proud to carry on the Walters legacy.

And as the sun set over Brisbane, Billy smiled, for he knew that there would always be rugby league, and that he would always be a part of it. For he was Billy Walters, a true son of the sport, and an immortal forever remembered in the annals of history.

I guess Billy is out this weekend.

Scott Sattler assures us Billy's end is nigh:

“I’m really excited about this Broncos number nine in Blake Mozer. We all keep talking about Corey Paix and Billy Walters. Blake Mozer is the kid. He could become another Cameron Smith this kid. He is a pretty special talent."
“He won’t start the season but by the middle of the season and towards the end of the year, he will be the starting number nine for the Broncos. Playing against men in 2022 will be good for his development.”

Yeah yeah....we all know this story from last year.

and I'm sure we're all KEEN AS **** (I know I am)......to see Mozer be all he can be.

Unfortunately it feels like he may be a season or two from being NRL grade material......I wish that wasn't the case and he could kick off in 2023.

Mozer the starting nine at the end of the year definitely seems like a stretch. Hopefully frequent benchie, but I can't see him starting this year unless both Clive Churchill Medallist in waiting Billy Walters and Corey Paix go down with injury, and probably Smoothey as well.

Nope ...you're wrong.

Mozer was discussed before the SOO series last year...... he was in the QLD U/19's

I think quite a few of us were disappointed he didn't have a happy game........

You're regurgitating old news....

....it's OK
you're not a professional journo...... we understand.

The pleasing thing is...this kid (Mozer) wants to bide his time

unlike that other arrogant fuckhead, Karl Oloseropo.
