It doesnt matter in the sense that we are (hopefully) going to get some experience into one of our younger players from this, beit kahu, nikorima, taylor etc. My point is that Milford at fullback is so good, that it potentially outweights playing a total rookie in 6, whereas bringing in kahu or something at fullback and leaving milford at 6 doesnt quite sound as strong. Milford is so much better at fullback than 6, that it doesnt matter who plays 6.
If Milford is so good at fullback, why have the Raiders been unable to make the finals with him there? BECAUSE as good as he has been, his five eighth has been absolutely terrible in both years, that's why.
The five eighth role is no joke. You can't just shrug your shoulders at it and say we can throw whoever and that this emerging superstar will be able to cover it because that will only end in tears.
I don't care about how strong things sound. In fact, the strongest sounding combination the Broncos could possibly role with is Australian International and Premiership Winning Fullback Justin Hodges in the custodian position and emerging superstar Anthony Milford at five eighth. That's the strongest sounding combo but it isn't the combination I want to roll with for the reasons AP suggested.
However, I'd much rather see a Jayden Nikorima, Kodi Nikorima or Jordan Kahu at the back than a Ash Taylor, Zach Strasser, Darren Nicholls or Jayden Nikorima at five eighth.
