It's a bit of history repeating sometimes this year and had a Broncos 88-91 feel with some players works ethic and attitude.

If you can't adapt and become professional to what we are doing/trying to do then you need to be moved just like was done in the previous era and that causes pain for some people who are entrenched in their ways and use the but we have always done it this way.

We've all been asking for years what is it exactly that is wrong here? It just got worse and worse and hopefully culminated this year.

Am I alone in thinking Boyd is bitter about Wayne's exit? He may not say it (in public) but he played like it. Maybe a few others are too?

With all due respect to the older guys in our squad, None of them outside Boyd have been Premiership winners and most of them have overseen the leanest period in Broncos history. I'm all for not fixing something that isn't broken, but on what grounds could they possibly be looking to defend what they used to do previously? It's not like it used to work and it bought them a heap of success?

That sort of player led push back at Melbourne I could understand. At the current Broncos, not a chance.

Definitely Wayne leaving the way he did would have effected players. He coddled a lot of them like a grandpa figure and of course some of them would feel sad that warm safety net disappeared.

Milford for example, I could see being sad, Wayne didn't push him hard enough.

Boyd though, I think it's bitterness. Translates into sub-par effort on field. You could see Milf's disappointment with Boyd all year in his body language.

It's no surprise that the 3 veteran players still around just happen to be the 3 who are the fittest / enjoy training the most (Boyd, McCullough, Glenn), I think that's what this all comes down to, if you buy in at training and give 100%, you're going to get picked. That's why I think there's a strong possibility we don't see Milford in a Broncos jersey again, he comes across as a very lousy trainer.

This is how I feel. It might actually be a silver lining, all of a sudden we have cap space and thus, room to rejig our team.

He's another one that was comfy with the way Wayne was doing things. I remember Sammy saying back in 2015 that they just let him kick a soccer ball around at training, perhaps being a bit facetious. But the reality is all that matters is how they perform on the field. Milford can't do his thing without a solid spine - because then he's doing other peoples jobs, as we saw this year. Constantly trying to stop tries Boyd should have been trying to stop, doing all the kicking, trying and failing to spark his running game.

It doesn't matter if we let Milford go and free up money if we are still stuck with Boyd at 1, Macca at 9 and inexperience in the seven in my opinion. Only let him go if it's part of a total sweep out including those blokes.

If that did occur, i just know seibs would do something stupid like sign an aging walker at some inflated price, and we would be in the exact same predictament that we are in now but with an older 6.

I think if we lost Milford this year we could have a very difficult year on the field. You'd suspect we would go after Croft with the cash generated, but that relies on Melbourne releasing him and why would they.

We'd probably be looking at 7. Croft/ Dearden 6. Bird, which means a lot of pressure will be thrown onto the halfback to get us around the field, generate repeat sets, kick and close out games (including field goals), because Bird cannot assist in that department.

There's also a good chance we wear some of Milf's contract including the potential of wearing some of his player option in 2021 (Milf's agent would simply say we're taking up the option so it therefore needs to be included in the cap here or at his new club). That is a lot of cash to potentially bring in Croft.

To me a Milf & Croft/Dearden partnership is much better than a Bird at five eight partnership.

There is no issue with what Milf does at training. He is a very good trainer, and does all that’s asked of him.

His issue is what happens away from training at the club. Diet, lifestyle etc.

Hope we do release him if that's the case, his best attribute is his running game and he's getting on a bit with age now, add on to that the poor body management and you've got someone who we've probably already seen the best of. We could use that money on someone who actually cares.

When Boyd was out the back it was Milford, Knik, TPJ, **** lots of them letting players through. Boyd was constantly trying to stop the flow but the defence was porous. When Boyd shifted forward he hardly missed a tackle. Milford was atrocious in defence when at fullback and didn't seem to be in position most of the time.
