NEWS Broncos investigating alleged Payne Haas-Albert Kelly brawl video

Media drive in full swing against the Broncos at the moment, no doubt.
Could see that Kev finally looks like he's had enough of these media clowns in yesterdays pre-game presser..
The Knights (KP & AOB) pretty much refused to answer questions in their post-game presser last night (speculation around KP). Its time the club start going all WB when asked questions. Simple yes/no answers might help get the message across.
There are a lot worse things happening in league atm, look at Penrith. Yet, basically nothing is being said or written in the media.
Its a deadest joke.

To be fair, Katie isnt too bad. She goes to everything and is asking questions really from a fan point of view and doesnt write puff pieces sensationalising.

Better than Badel's muckraking.

Give her time now she doesn’t have to play nice as part of the NRL.com media. Credit for establishing her own brand, but along with her baiting question, saying shit like that is clearly trying to instigate cancel culture bullshit where I’m sure Kev meant it in the same context that he would if he said ‘mate’.

If she’s good enough, she doesn’t need to stoop to those levels

I would've been going that from day one. The media are scum.

I'm guessing we can't ban certain media from interviews........can we?

I'd be telling Ms Brown to **** off back to facebook if she wants to write her sensationalistic gutter trash....

As bad as it is for us, you guys should check out the Newcastle post-match press conference last night

They got sick of the questions and insinuations that Ponga's attention wasn't on the game of footy and they basically walked out

Good on 'em.......more clubs should do it to these complete and utter, shitcunt journos....

I don't think Payne has done anything wrong here. It's very easy to get a bad reputation and then people judge too quickly from then on. I think that's the case here. Payne has done a couple of bad things off the field, got a rep, and as soon as there's a story of Payne being involved in something, it's immediately "Haas is an idiot and done something stupid again"
I tell you right now, stepping on someone's shoe's because they are new, FMD that is the behaviour of fricken 8 year old.
A couple of kids did it me when I was in high school and they got physically reminded not to do it again, and I can tell you right now if it happened to me as 50 year old in the pub the outcome would be the same.
The idiot here is Kelly and he got what he deserved.

Rothfield reporting that the NRL are pissed off with Phil Gould. Because he recently stated publicly that it was a nothing incident and if the same thing happened at the Bulldogs he wouldn't bother reporting it to the integrity unit

Still can’t see how they can suspend him. Well I can, because “broncos” but it looks fucking dumb, when you have may playing who’s actually been charged for assaulting a member of the public and you’re going to suspend haas for something that hasn’t been charged by police?

They probably can because its his 3rd or 4th run in with them, and instead of getting aggressive he could have walked away. No consistency though compared to others.

‘No consistency’ should be printed on the sign out the front of NRL HQ. It’s essentially their company slogan.
It’s because they’re reactive, everything they do is in response to media attention, which is why Walker only got a week for pleading guilty to assault and why Staggs got 2 weeks for being a drunk pest in a bar. The Walker incident didn’t get much media attention, while a bronco could fart and it gets front page in Brisbane, which makes it news in Sydney, which makes the “integrity unit” hand out suspensions for farting…

Staggs again though was for more than one offence. He got off pretty lightly for his homophbic slur and then after that he made very little attempt to complete and of the the things the NRL asked him to.

Capewell has reportedly said that Kelly and Haas apologised to the playing group before the game on Friday
Good to hear. It might, just might be the first signs that the playing group are beginning to buy into the idea that the team comes first and that everything they do should be aimed at benefiting the team.

Once this idea becomes second nature only then will be in the same realm as the Storm and the Panthers.

But again, then there’s Dylan Walker, a serial offender that makes Staggs look like a choir boy, getting a week for assault. I have no problem coming down hard on Staggs, but at least have some level of consistency & appreciation for the gravity of what is a criminal offence & what isn’t.

Since when have Penrith been a beacon of ‘club first’ player behaviour? They may well have mostly avoided punishment for it, but to pretend they haven’t been littered with stupid player behaviour in the last few years is just ridiculous. They’re just lucky the NRL wouldn’t dare upset them as their narrative is a good one for the NRL.

Melbourne have generally been better behaved, but even they’ve been no stranger to player misbehaviour lately that again they are also just fortunate the NRL mostly shrugged its shoulders at.
