Brisbane coach Ivan Henjak has agreed to terms with the Broncos in a deal that will see him lead the club until the end of 2012.

Broncos chief executive Bruno Cullen announced this morning that Henjak would extend his tenure at Red Hill for another two years, a decision which could yet influence Darren Lockyer’s decision about his playing future.

The deal is a just reward for Henjak, who was a longtime apprentice to club legend Wayne Bennett before taking over as head coach last season.

He endured a difficult and testing rookie campaign but impressed everybody with his patience and resolve as the Broncos battled form slumps and injury to finish the year one game away from the grand final.

They would of had inside info and wrote up the article before hand and submitted it as soon as it hit 10.00 am but because they're on dialup it took 3 minutes to upload.

Yep, most of the time the press release is distributed first, before the in person event.

All stories like this get sent out as press releases usually the day before to the papers etc. with the words "Embargoed until 12 midnight" or in this case "Embargoed until 10am, 14 January 2010". Meaning that the papers can do all the rining around, getting quotes etc. but can't run the story til then.

But yes, like everyone else, WTF? Already knew it. Major announcement indeed.
