Firstly I've only seen the dudes highlights. So it's difficult to have an informed decision. But I can see the sense in signing an older outside back for cover and for not much $$$ if he's a genuine finisher.

That's extremely short sighted by some.
This is what the second tier cap is for! Give him 30k play for Jets, train with Brisbane for two years. If he played in those two years and you got 20 games out of him- would that not be worth 30k?
