Good, it shouldn't be a problem then, given he isn't an elite fullback.
You really want to go back to the days of Hoggman at the back because we don't pay good money for elite fullbacks?

Damn.
Good.
Good. Maybe now we can finally start playing actual props in the front row...
We can't get any of the current elite fullbacks, but we have plenty of good players for the position, like Kahu, Allen, Isaak, or my favourite... Knik, whom would make us much more potent in attack and would surely learn the defensive intricacies for the position during a full pre-season.You really want to go back to the days of Hoggman at the back because we don't pay good money for elite fullbacks?

I'd rather get an organising halfback with a kicking game to cover our most glaring deficiencies, and put Boyd at left centre on a wage similar to Roberts.
Nah. He's already re-signed with the Roosters. No chance we might be able to jag Michael Gordon with Teddy going to the Roosters next year?
Really? I was a massive Blair fan. Bloke laid it all on the line. Earned his money. Gritty, rugged player who put the fear in opponents.
Or back to the days where every topic turns into a debate about Boyd and Bennett. It's like I have jumped into a time machine. Boyd isn't as fast or as evasive as Tedesco or Trbojevic but he brings exactly what the Broncos need as we have those attacking players elsewhere on the field whereas the Tigers and Manly really don't.You really want to go back to the days of Hoggman at the back because we don't pay good money for elite fullbacks?

Blair officially gone.

I was a fan too but what you're saying is so true.I was a fan of him also, but when you look at it, he didn't provide what we most needed ..... go forward !
Look at the platform the Storm forwards provide Smith/Cronk/Slater with .... it's a massive advantage, and something Smith requested when Bellamy asked him what was needed to help better the side.

Mitch rein as a back up hooker anyone?
There's a few players off contract/released who I can't believe we aren't going for. I know we have little to know money but I'm talking about bargain buys (eg: Peter mataiutai, tagatese, rein, Pauli Pauli, lichaa, Tyrone Roberts).
I've said before I think our team is in a good spot next season but you need a good top 25-26 players to win a premiership these days, right now we have about 21-22 good players. A big and experienced prop, a back up hooker or half/hooker, and 1 or 2 other depth players of whatever becomes available. Im talking players who will be at or near minimal wage so it doesn't impact our cap at all, if they want more go to the next option.
Rein debuted in bennetts final year at the dragons so could be good history between them. Whilst I don't think he sets the world on fire, I also think he was unfairly blamed for the dragons attacking troubles. As much as I loved what Marshall did at our club, I reckon he stifled a lot of their attack more then rein did (although Marshall wasn't to blame either, they just didn't gel as a team back then)I really rate Rein, he’d be a fantastic addition to the club if we can get him. Did he play under Bennett at st George?
