Good, it shouldn't be a problem then, given he isn't an elite fullback.

You really want to go back to the days of Hoggman at the back because we don't pay good money for elite fullbacks?

Good. Maybe now we can finally start playing actual props in the front row...

I was a fan of his in 2015. Since then he has rapidly gone downhill and we can absolutely do without his errors, penalties, own player taking out, dogshots, lack of hitups and lack of metres.

Didn’t see him putting much fear into any opponent all season to be honest. If anything and most notably against the Eels, he was the one who looked afraid.

We can't get any of the current elite fullbacks, but we have plenty of good players for the position, like Kahu, Allen, Isaak, or my favourite... Knik, whom would make us much more potent in attack and would surely learn the defensive intricacies for the position during a full pre-season.

I'd rather get an organising halfback with a kicking game to cover our most glaring deficiencies, and put Boyd at left centre on a wage similar to Roberts.

No chance we might be able to jag Michael Gordon with Teddy going to the Roosters next year?

Really? I was a massive Blair fan. Bloke laid it all on the line. Earned his money. Gritty, rugged player who put the fear in opponents.

I was a fan of him also, but when you look at it, he didn't provide what we most needed ..... go forward !

Look at the platform the Storm forwards provide Smith/Cronk/Slater with .... it's a massive advantage, and something Smith requested when Bellamy asked him what was needed to help better the side.

Or back to the days where every topic turns into a debate about Boyd and Bennett. It's like I have jumped into a time machine. Boyd isn't as fast or as evasive as Tedesco or Trbojevic but he brings exactly what the Broncos need as we have those attacking players elsewhere on the field whereas the Tigers and Manly really don't.

Mitch rein as a back up hooker anyone?

There's a few players off contract/released who I can't believe we aren't going for. I know we have little to know money but I'm talking about bargain buys (eg: Peter mataiutai, tagatese, rein, Pauli Pauli, lichaa, Tyrone Roberts).

I've said before I think our team is in a good spot next season but you need a good top 25-26 players to win a premiership these days, right now we have about 21-22 good players. A big and experienced prop, a back up hooker or half/hooker, and 1 or 2 other depth players of whatever becomes available. Im talking players who will be at or near minimal wage so it doesn't impact our cap at all, if they want more go to the next option.

I was a fan too but what you're saying is so true.

I think Bennett needs to come to terms with the fact the wrestle is what wins premierships. The reason these teams have big forwards isn't necessarily for metres (we do ok in that department), it's more so they get quick play the balls as they are too big to twist onto their back and either stay on their feet or fall onto their stomach.

The little-fitter middle men with good footwork tired players out in 2015 but now the teams have adapted to the interchange through improved fitness and manipulating the hia, and purposeful time wasting (more time spent arguing with the ref, intentional penalties, no quick tap penalties anymore and video ref time). This has lead to more energy>more wrestle>even more energy>less broken play and more 'set' defensive lines.

The nrl would be better without these things but the footy gods down in Melbourne won't allow it so we either need to adapt or wait at least 5 more years to win another premiership

Mitch Rein and Pauli Pauli would be great pick ups. Need a backup 9 and a couple of huge forwards

I really rate Rein, he’d be a fantastic addition to the club if we can get him. Did he play under Bennett at st George?

Rein debuted in bennetts final year at the dragons so could be good history between them. Whilst I don't think he sets the world on fire, I also think he was unfairly blamed for the dragons attacking troubles. As much as I loved what Marshall did at our club, I reckon he stifled a lot of their attack more then rein did (although Marshall wasn't to blame either, they just didn't gel as a team back then)

What was the point of Dodds even signing again? Hes leaving again after coming back and not even playing i know he has had a knee injury but try get an extension
