Broncos Player Movement and Rumours 2020

I think we should be a little worried Brennan might make a play for Lodge. Brennan knows him well, and the Titans certainly could offer him a good contract.
I'd say Lodge would be looking at which team he can use as a platform to better the rest of his career.

Broncos prop situation is a shambles so he is half a chance to jag a starting spot through the year and probably odds on for a bench spot.

Given broncos go deep in the finals year after year it is also a good look for him to be a member of a pack sitting high on the table.

Compare that to the titans whose starting props were largely established last year and are potentially going to be near the bottom of the ladder.

I think if anything we'll have Lodge for a year before Sydney comes calling ala Ese and co who we try to keep on the cheap but can't match the other money thrown at them.

I hope ash calls wayne or vice versa about where he wants his career to go,
If he takes the money at the titans and be the face of the club but struggle in his career and doesnt make rep sides
Or
He comes home and plays with the best coach and takes unders for a couple of years until Boyd , Gillett retire then the money will come

Will the Titans have any cap space left to offer Lodge three times what we're prepared to sign him for (their usual MO)? They will have Taylor and Hayne on over one mil, Peats close to it, Procter on too much, Wallace on a shit load, Elgey on a lot also.

Boyd as captain will attract plenty of TPAs, it was probably a factor in making him captain in the first place. Fake news outlets will claim we've signed him for 1 mil a season, and it will be parroted by idiots who hate the Broncos, but I doubt we'll need to pay top dollar for him.

Or he stays at the Coast, they build a team around him - ala Cowyboys and Thurston - and he carves out a career path at the Titans that no one has done as yet. That's another option for him. He could realistically build the club with Brennan.

Who's our thurston ?

I think they have a fair amount to play with tbh. Pasi is homesick i belive.

What actually happens when a fully grown man who is paid well to "work" gets homesick? Is he curling up every night wanting his mummy so bad that he needs to ask for his redundancy?

Whether we get Taylor or not, let's not blow his recruitment out of proportion. We have youngsters on the roster. I'm hoping we didn't sign them with no expectation of one developing the skills of a half. He may not match Taylor and may never but with what else we have coming through, it won't be the disaster some people expect.
Worse comes to worst we finish in the 5 to 8th spots next year. That's something the titans dream of. There is of course, like our young forwards, a chance WB may have a plan for the deficiencies shown this year, whoever plays half. He has been around a while; and if he can win a premiership with perry as half, he might have the nouse to deal with something like a kicking problem. He has the off season to work on it, and barring losing hunt, will have a stronger team in my view with what we have so far. Remember offa was seen as playing park football for a future once and is now verging on a run-on spot. He knows a few tricks WB.
An exceptional half might wait a season for development, but they'll be a plan. One probably irrelevant to Taylor's signing.

We arent going to offer Lodge big money, titans may offer him more. Despite them signing a couple of players, they have also lost players as well. I would still say they have enough salary cap space to bring in a couple of players, maybe even 3 or 4.

From what I understand Polynesian culture is very family oriented ... more than most. And homesickness is pretty brutal once it sets in. Not like he is going to be much value to the Titans if his head is in the wrong space.

How come so many Polynesians end up taking money contracts in the UK then?

Better than demetriou? Do you have any idea of the connection between him and Taylor? Cheers for the insight to , don't think Maguire would've been a good fit .

I wouldn't say better, they're probably not too dissimilar to be honest. Both have great lower grade records. Both done a variety of roles which you have to do when you coach ISC teams. Because they don't have the budget or staff.

JD’s gone the same path as everyone- ISC, assistant and looking for a head role. JD did a great job at the Pride- He won 40/51 games in his two years. Two minor premierships, a premiership and a state title. Chuck in Queensland Residents too and a win.

The Walkers interviewed well but they're too out there for the Titans.

Yeah they have a unique style but would be a big gamble to give them the reins , and the titans can't afford to do that imo. Cheers for the insight mate

Some of their income goes to others? So if that's the best deal a lot will suck it up and feel it is expected of them to go there? I dunno. I am not Polynesian. You just read about it a lot.

i am not sure if this has been posted or noted yet but i heard we have signed the parra u//20's origin halfback..
