We have Boyd and Issako then who?
Yeah I’m sure when we signed Bird our full intention was to have him sit on the sidelines all year injured......
I agree we didn't expect him to sit on the sidelines but his signing for me is rather large indicator that we have lost our way.
Rather than spending money in areas we needed it, we threw a whole wad of the cap at a position where we had plenty of young options.
we chased the area we needed at the same time (i.e. halfback) ... he turned us down for the massive offer he received from the Titans.
True......... but we did we arrogance, we just expected Taylor to come running when we called and didn't bother to consider any of the other options that were available.
I liked him in defence and I think he showed tonight he isn’t too bad kicking in play but I haven’t seen anything to suggest he can put a pass on. Unpopular opinion but I’m thinking if Nikorima has a place in the starting side that’s probably it.Isaako doesn't look anything particularly special either to be honest, and he's 2 years older. Not particularly fast, nor strong, and a Hoffman level passer. I hope Super Freak isn't talking about him, no guaratee Allan isn't going surpass him.

I agree.
the only real thing that would worry me with Niko at fulback is his ability to win a contested catch under the bomb
How many are we supposed to have exactly? We have Boyd and Issako then who?
No, not Nikorima at fullback. Height makes me nervous these days due to any weaknesses being exposed in the NRL. They'd target him like crazy.
Short term he's a bench utility. Long term he could be a hooker. As he matures he will be able to handle the middle more.
I'd be happy for him to gradually take more minutes from McCullough.
Our long term fullback is a tricky one.
I'm just going to come out and say when you look at our squad, Milford would have to be the best long term option.
Assuming we want to keep Corey Paix and Tanah Boyd.. Would it not make sense to consider the shift?
Potentially
1. Anthony Milford
6. Tanah Boyd
7. Corey Paix
9. Kodi Nikorima
With a bit more maturity that'd be a competitive spine.
Obviously we'd need to sign an experienced half for a few years in order to get the spine to this point or Kodi could play 6 until McCullough has retired.
You literally just said Nikorima wouldn't make a good fullback due to his height then you put Milford at fullback who is a whole 2cm taller

I remember a particular Melbourne Storm game where he was targetted ruthlessly in defence. After 4 tries conceded even Wayne had to hook him...
That would be every single game for us with him at fullback...
Just throwing something out there. Macca to lock Knik to Hooker and sign a HBNo it wouldn't. Did that happen with Barba? Milford (at Canberra) or Bowen? Fullback and wing are very different positions. KNik would go infinitely better than the current version of Boyd at the back. When Bird is fit, I think this is actually the best spine:
1. KNik
6. Bird
7. Milford
9. Turpin
I just don't see where Macca fits unless you put him at 6 and Bird at 9. One thing that is painfully obvious to me though is that Macca at 9 will not be seeing the Broncs win any titles any time soon. He is a good footballer but I just don't know where he fits but what I do know is where he does NOT fit and that is at 9. He could be an interesting experiment at 6 though, he has the tools for craftiness, not everyone needs speed, even in the halves.
And yes, I am aware this will be a very unpopular opinion.
