Broncos Player Movement and Rumours 2020

Kahu and Glenn are being overshadowed by just about every one of our juniors that are coming through.. we simply don't need them.. I'd rather keep those juniors.

A club that doesn't have great depth will be the club that needs them most.

Cowboys and Titans are clubs that have struggled with depth issues and these are both the rumoured clubs.

FYI source inside the club says Glenn and Kahu to Titans. They could be bullshitting though.

Glenn to the Titans makes a lot of sense, considering their starting edge forward for a majority of the season has been Keegan Hipgrave, who I'm pretty sure is a middle forward, and also not very good.

Kahu also makes sense, they've been chopping & changing outside backs all year, Kahu would be a walk up to any 1-5 position he wanted I imagine, I'd hope they give him first crack at Fullback next season.

It'd also mean they probably don't have to move their families, which has gotta be a huge plus. My only issue with them going to the Titans is that I may actually want the Titans to succeed, I'm not sure I'm ready for that.

We would have been in serious trouble without a player like Glenn this year. He has been our consistently best performing backrower this year. I really cant understand why the clamour by certain people to get rid of him. Your statement saying he has been overshadowed by our juniors is simply wrong. He hasn't. I just dont think it would be smart to lose him. We dont know how Gillett will be coming back. Fifita as good as he potentially is isnt a player i'd like to rely on starting week in week out in the NRL grind every week. Sua hasnt really done anything Glenn hasn't done, and his discipline is worse ( that's something that can be worked on ). That really only leaves TPJ, who himself has been dogged with injury this year and who knows if its something he is going to carry with him in his career.

As for them going to the Titans, they simply cant afford either unless they shed some players or we massively subsidise their contracts, which as has been said, wouldnt make any sense for us. I don't doubt they are interested, but right now they couldnt fit them in. I do know one club has approached Kahu, but it isnt the Titans.

I agree that Glenn has been one of our better and most consistent forwards this year. His defence is a bit of a worry sometimes though. He probably seemed extra valuable this year because of the insane 2nd rower injury toll we've had too.

"The Cowboys have taken the first step in rebuilding for 2019 by signing promising Broncos centre Tom Opacic.

An athletic ball-runner, the 23-year-old announced he had re-signed with the Broncos only weeks ago.

But WWOS has learned that after some backroom dealings, the Broncos have decided to release him from his contract and allow him to switch to the struggling Cowboys.

With James Roberts and Jordan Kahu firmly entrenched in the centres for the Broncos, Opacic’s chances have been few and far between since he debuted at NRL level in 2016.

But with the Cowboys set to release Kane Linnett, Antonio Winterstein and Lachlan Coote from their outside backs for 2019, his pathway to the top looks far more promising under Paul Green."

Doesn't surprise me.

He didn't have much of a future at the club.

I'll be happy for the guy if he gets regular game time, he looks like a promising player but we barely ever used him so he's better off elsewhere

I thought it was strange that we re-signed him to be honest. Good news, his top 30 spot and funds can be used elsewhere. Best of luck Tommy.

He's what they need. They need a solid defensive centre. Linnett and O'Neill just aren't up to the task.

He was one of the four I mentioned a while back about going to the cowboys. Not sure where the others stand now. I know there have been talks also at the same time he had his with a certain winger/backrower as well.

No way. I'll be pissed if we lose Aaron Whitchurch to the Cows.

I like Tom. Shame he always got injured at the worst time. Hope he kills it against everyone except us

He needs a run of games which he was always going to struggle to get here. He is a much better player than I think we have got to see mainly because he was always asked be to defend and keep things tight

Break a leg Tom. Good pickup for the Cowboys.
