TEVITA Pangai Jnr appears a genuine chance of returning to Newcastle after the explosive Brisbane forward met with Knights officials earlier this week for contract negotiations.
Pangai Jnr flew into Newcastle on Thursday to talk with Knights coach Nathan Brown and staff and was given a tour of the club’s training facilities.

Hopefully he sees the facilities and realises how good he has it in Brisbane.

I think it’s worrying. I would doubt we could match the knights $, add in the WB debacle, but I’m fairly confident that WB won’t end up back at the knights, so he still wouldn’t be coached by Wayne..

I wouldn’t worry yet. So many players would tour the facilities of other clubs during negotiations, especially those in demand, we just wouldn’t hear about it. Smith, Bellamy, have all toured ours multiple times, they were never coming here.

TPJ has said himself that he values his development over money, even without Bennett I’d say we have a far better chance of helping him reach his potential.

I would've said the same before this whole Bennett debacle, now I'm not so sure.

He only came to Brisbane because of Bennett. Wayne looks to be on borrowed time these days so why would a Newcastle boy stick around in hot and stinky Brissy under some spud of a coach? Having said that, he will sign a two year deal with a get out clause as an option after the first year.
