Broncos Player Movement and Rumours 2020

Probably because his last name wasn't McCullough.
That is actually a good point probably had very low expectations going in. Much like me as a Titans fan the last couple of years. Any positive is amplified. I still agree with Dazza though that he would be a better potential lock whilst covering 9 personally. Many of you seem to have wraps on Carrigan though (not saying I don't) so depends if you want to slot him back somewhere else etc.

I am also of a similar line of thought. My belief is that he is a strong ball runner and all that but I feel you already have those sorts of players and a lot of you are glossing over how well Turpin played last year for you. I really don't think getting Brandon would upgrade your hooker spot substantially. What the team is missing is game smarts and management etc. through experience. Obviously CS9 would help there but I doubt it will happen and even if Storm don't keep Grant I would be surprised if Tigers didn't snatch him up. I really don't think Brandon is the answer in that regard and would just be chucking another promising player into the line up. I will digress I haven't watched large amounts of Brandon at hooker but will he really bring much that Turpin can't do?
Have to agree with you here, Brandon Smith is more of a bench forward or lock type player imo. His strengths lay in his work ethic, power and ability to break tackles. He can play hooker well but nothing like Harry Grant who has that incredibly clean passing and running style reminiscent of CS9.

Turpin is underrated as hooker and people forget that he's barely played a full season of first grade. I think his ceiling as hooker is higher than Brandon's.

Turps has earned the right to demonstrate he is the hooker we need going forward

My fear for him is he cant stay healthy; we need a bench option who can spell him 15-20 minutes when necessary to help with that...maybe Paix..?

Turpin is high energy and a competitor, he's not even close to the top tier 9's .
Great to have in the team though.

Right then, how do we go about making them take Milford off our hands? We need to start making a big deal about how much he means to us and how desperately we want to extend him for life. Even if it makes us vomit a little in our mouths.

easy ... just leak it to one of the Raging Fool's media mates that the story about us wanting to offload Milford is false and we are desperate to keep him.

then next minute, Milford will have a $2 million a year offer from the Titans.

He was great at the Cowboys too.

I think it was Cudliegh they had at the same time as Brandon and he was rated very highly as well and the Cows went more with him than Smith? Didnt he get struck down by injury?

Chudleigh was injured the whole time at the Cowboys, he was out 17 and 18. Cowboys made Smith an offer but it was two years and Storm was three and Storm had CS, he wanted to work with him.

BSmith was Cowboys NYC player of the 2016 and the NYC hooker of the year- he was great all year. He scored 18 tries in 25 games which is unbelievable for a hooker.

I have to ask where were the Broncos with their offer? I think we needed a hooker round about then too.

A lot of sense in going to work alongside Cam Smith. Didn't Chudleigh win the Award for best player in ISC at the same time Brandon was winning the NYC awards?

It was actually Tonga that BSmith dominated ... in the below take note of TPJ's horrendous defence out on the left edge to note why a lot on here dont think he can make it as a second rower without drastic improvement in that aspect of the game.

Also another starring game for BSmith... albeit a preseason game. Usually when BSmith gets a shot to play at hooker he rarely has a game that he doesn't star in

He’s a bloody hurricane out of dummy half, he takes the marker out of play just from the fear of him going for a scoot. How was old mate at marker on his first try, he was so far from being square smith barely had to to do anything but run straight.

Reports circling that Brandon Smith will exit Melbourne IF Cam Smith plays for the Storm in 2021.
Surely we go hard for either Cam or Brendon if there is truth to the rumour.

He has a cult following at the Tigers and appears happy to be playing there. May well be harder and more costly to extract him from the Tigers than the Storm If it’s decided he becomes a free agent.

I think the Storm will do everything In their power to retain Smith on the coaching staff as assistant to Bellamy should he decide not to play on, he appears to do a fair bit of that now.
Won't get CS9 to stay. The money would have to be more than even Bellamy gets.
