It's not hard to see that the majority of this forum watch all Broncos games and are capable of making their opinions based on what they see. This isn't casualnrlfans.com

I don't doubt people on here watch all Broncos games. And I don't doubt they don't watch more than 1-2 games a week, and see some highlights or a media personality talk up a player, and then just go with that. Someone even said Starling and Cotter are better than Turpin haha.

Starling and Cotter could well be better than Turpin. Is that such a ridiculous thought? I don't think so. Pretty sure @Wolfie said it and we have an agreement to never agree with eachother

This is just so wrong. Turpin walks into the starting 9 unchallenged at NQ, Titans, Warriors, Knights, Dogs, Eagles, Tigers and Sharks. He would also challenge at Drags and Eels.

If you watch Turpin play and think he only has heart and energy...says more about you than Turpin.

Most those teams mentioned didnt play finals

Of the few games that Melb had B.Smith at hooker fulltime or even in stints when resting Cam, they dont look as dangerous.
To me his our version of Berrigan who starting out was phenomenal but once the years got on, teams shut him down cause he got too one dimensional.

edit: just because he does a fantastic job in the bench/lock hybrid role does not mean one bit that he is already an oustanding stand alone hooker now and will be long term. seeing some posts word for word echoing the 'tv experts'.

I agree to an extent. I think B Smith comes with far more risk of being a flop than people are currently admitting.

All his carry on off the field is funny enough for the memes but it would concern me from a club admin perspective. The way he and Munny carried on post GF and then how proud and vocal they were about it was very unprofessional.

He could turn out to be a larrikin that consistently kills it on the field or he could piss away his talent.

Yeah just the same as when a talent like Bird becomes available. Sorry, that's now how it works in the world with a salary cap. Even if Turpin is just a serviceable hooker, he isn't a part of the massive problems at Brisbane. #1 priority should be a fullback, then look for edge back rowers and centres.

I look forward to Turpin getting some games together without injuries or needing to play 7, will show up majority on this forum who rely on the media to tell them who a good player is.

I see your point mate re: fullback, back row and centres. But hooker is also another position which needs strengthening and sometimes when you are fitting the pieces to the puzzle back in some pieces might fit in earlier than others but you have to take the opportunity. Brandon Smith 9 Turpin 14 for me energy from the bench.
