We have to have a top 30 i thought so would be something left to fill those spots

we do need a top 30 ... 29 spots need to be filled before the season starts with the 30th filled by around june

Yeah just curious as to if development deals count on the cap

i don't think they do ... but there are restrictions, in regards to salary, experience etc to be eligible to be on the developmental list.

in a normal season the development list players need permission from the NRL to play before june 30

and the other interesting thing is, should a player spend 2 years on a clubs development list, then gets promoted to the top 30, the club receives a small reduction from is salary on the cap. i think it is a 10% discount

Because one was a serious crime involving jail time and one was a stupid moment with a dog....
And you’ve missed the point I made in my post - that Pearce’s behaviour is potentially more damaging TO A PLAYING GROUP than Lodge’s one-off atrocity in New York

Which could potentially mean a 10% discount on a guy like Bullemor for the rest of his career... or is it only 10% on their next contract??

I know young guys are pretty naive, but when a club can get a free 10% bonus on your contract you might think of sticking around, if your motives are just financial.

Theoretically, if Staggs wants $600k Broncos could literally offer you $60k more for the same salary cap, which is chump change to an organisation racking up $50M a year!!

I’m hoping we can look to exploit this moving forward given it is basically the ONLY advantage a development club can actually gain nowadays

I quite like my job and they’ve been very good to me but I would definitely look at other options if they were on the table. I would prefer to stay but I’m also not stupid.
I'm loyal to my employer because they pay me. I'd walk out the door in a heartbeat for a worthwhile increase. Then I'd be loyal to my new employer. You see, a business isn't alive, it is just a notion, an idea. Loyalty to a friend/valued human is completely different.

Lodge did more than make a serious mistake; way to minimise a serious violent crime.

You have no idea what Pearce would have done had he come here.

What we do know is that Bennett was entirely inconsistent....one player commits a serious violent offence; no probs....one player does something stupid (probably not illegal) with a dog....no he’s toxic to team culture...what a complete joke!
They didnt need pearce because the toxic culture has been in place a few years without him

Bar a 6 week hot streak in 2019, Pearce’s form has been average at best. What would he actually have added here?

Stop gap options that won't break the bank account and would add a LOT to this current squad. Also, multiple players already gone anyway plus two more expiring rubbish huge contracts finally going in Milf and Macca.

If getting an Allan, Capewell and Mann are 'stop gaps' and going to prevent us going to market, well it wouldn't surprise me because only an incompetent management would manage to flip Bird, Joffa, Kahu, Boyd and Fifita into Asiata, Copley, Capewell, Mead, Allan and Mann and no change. Like you would have to be totally rubbish at your job to still have no money left over after that.

Yet according to the coach and board, even without Capewell, Allan and Mann and only an upgrade (also apparently massive overs) to Flegler, there is no money left for this season. You can choose not to believe this and I don't care if it is true or not because this is what THEY themselves have said.

I mean, the Titans have apparently managed to flip Boyd, Cartwright, reduced Proctor and Tumpaticklerpatio into Fifita, Foulsmellingodour, Ese'ese and an extension for Kelly AND still apparently have a million left over if C.Smith becomes available.

That said, I don't expect you to ever admit or understand just had bad this club's salary cap has been mismanaged, so we will likely just end up going in circles again.
Titans had a heap of players off contract this year, as we will next year.

No. Bennett’s position was completely inconsistent as regards the two players.
Indefensibly inconsistent.
Bennett was smart enough to realize that Lodge was 20 years old when he went haywire in the USA & that young fellas often make mistakes, albeit a pretty bad one. He was a chance of straightening himself out as he matured as I have witnessed with many young fellas. Bennett was also smart enough to realize that Pearce is a serial dickhead that still hasn't straightened himself out at the age of 31. That may appear inconsistent but you can't argue that Bennett was wrong on either player.

You can’t reason from result to premise.

Apart from one incident with the dog; what had Pearce done at the time Bennett rejected him?

What Lodge did was much more serious and the fact that he was 20 doesn’t make one iota of difference.

There was the thing with girl in the yellow dress also.

2 things here.
#1. Bennett got it right. Maybe he's a bit smarter judge of people than you or I.
Re-read my second sentence & think about it for a second. Pretty sure you've witnessed the same more than once.
#2. Google Mitchell Pearce girl in yellow dress. (Although credit here to Mitchell as the girl involved didn't walk on all fours)

To quote dwight from the office:
"Look, I'm all about loyalty. In fact, I feel like part of what I'm being paid for here is my loyalty. But if there were somewhere else that valued loyalty more highly, I'm going wherever they value loyalty the most".

Good enough for Eisenhower! For a moment I thought that's where your post was going.
