Why would Smith come here...i mean why?

Unfinished business? Desire to work under one of the games best coaches....help me here...whats the motivation?

He would be going through the motions with us....not really interested in going down that road....this is a important year..

Let him go...lets focus on 2022 and maximising our salary cap...

And resign Dearden, and Coates.....and you can add Walsh there too...

A future coaching job maybe. That’s all I can think of

why would he go to the Titans? even if they're building, they're still several years from being genuine contenders (even with Smith), and Smith would only be there for 1 season, so he wouldn't be able to be part of their premiership

say he comes here and we turn last year around and make the 8, then the media will give him all the credit ... if he doesn't turn us around and we miss the 8, the media will just trot the line that not even Smith could turn around this "mess" ... nothing to lose

Would anyone offer the off contract SJ a deal? Most try assist last season.
23 in 16 games.

I think he would be as reliable as milford getting to the back end of his career
He has been offering far more than Milford has over the last few years. On the same money I’d rather Shaun.

2020:
Johnson: 23 TA; 16 games
Milford: outside top 50 for TA:

2019:
Johnson 16 TA; 18 games
Milford: 13 TA; 24 games

2018:
Johnson: 15 TA; 19 games
Milford: 12 TA; 24 games

Though Johnson’s inability to play a full season is concerning.

I think both would be worth the same price towards the end of this season. Would you still pick SJ if that was the case given his age being 31 and injury history?

The injury thing is the only concern - and tbf it’s not a small concern. If Milford fails again under Kev I would still prefer Shaun, and he’s a decent goal kicker

I think I would take Milf at 28yr and $600k over SJ at 31yr on $800k+

I can only compare this to the Brisbane lions bringing in luke hodge. He showed the youngsters the way on the field and now has continued mentoring them in a coaching capacity.

If you had the choice between SJ and Milf at 500k a season, you go with SJ. I wouldn't be paying Mild anything over 400k for anything more than 1 season. He has been an abject failure since 2016. He owes the club some of the money that has been wasted on him.

SJ is never going to be that low though

Maybe why the leagues club has pokies?

I agree but 'if' you had the choice. either way, I don't want Brisbane offering Milf anymore than a one or two year deal at 3-400k.

What if he absolutely kills it and wins the Dally M??

500k and 2 years. There is no circumstance where he gets anymore than 500k and that is only if he gets back to his 2015/16 form which is extremely unlikely.

the boat is literally ready to burn for Milford, either has stranded or he revives on albeit life support. Probably a year too late, the irony.
