Broncos Roster, Signings and Rumours Discussion 2021

I can see all the points for this side but there is a fair bit of a bias and that is fine, this is a Broncos' forum. If I am being as fair as I can be, I'd go:

1. Brimson (Titans)
2. Don (Titans) or Coates (Broncos) - Take your pick with experience or purely very raw talent
3. Staggs (Broncos)
4. Kelly (Titans)
5. Farnworth (Broncos)
6. Taylor (Titans) (Both suck, so who cares here BUT Taylor was a heck of a lot better than Milford based on last year alone)
7. Fogarty (Titans) (Lets face it, Dearden has looked promising but so far has proven zero, Fogarty is the better CURRENT player, Dearden looks to have massive upside though)
8. Haas (Broncos)
9. Turpin (Broncos)
10. Fotaoka?? (Titans)
11. Fifita (Titans)
12. Tino (Titans)
13. Ese'ese (Titans) or Asiata (Broncos) (I'd personally easily go with Ese'ese)

14. TPJ (Broncos) (If based on last season, he doesn't make this team by any means)
15. Peachey (Titans)
16. Carrigan (Broncos)
17. Lodge (Broncos)

So at best it is even stevens but hey, they proves the discussion is debatable at least.
Totally on board with you here but I think a good idea might be to do two comparisons.

Comparison A
Current Squad

Comparison B
2021 Broncos against 2020 Titans

The second comparison because it's a like for like situation.
Wooden spoon, new coach, squad not chosen by the incoming coach, financial mess, unhappy fan base.

Seeing what KW and Holbrook had in common and how the Titans handled it gives us a fair idea of how high to set the judgement bar.

Smith will go to the Titans. Go there with their squad or go to the Broncos. It’s a no brainer (pains me to say).

If you had the choice between SJ and Milf at 500k a season, you go with SJ. I wouldn't be paying Mild anything over 400k for anything more than 1 season. He has been an abject failure since 2016. He owes the club some of the money that has been wasted on him.
You mean the guy that barely gets on feild these days?

Interesting choices for a couple 🤔🌝

If you were Smith, Broncos would be the only real option.
1) Club of prestige and history.
2)Dave is the CEO.
3)Walters/Maroons/Smith link.
4)Better chance of winning with Broncos, better squad than Tits.
5)The NRL and media would have a field day. Sponsors and promo galore, would make for a good story.

What prestige? we're coming off a bloody wooden spoon and the Titans have a much better team in key positions.

It's a no brainer - he's signing with the Titans a few weeks into the season.

What if Smith is waiting for Bellamy to make his decision ? [emoji848]

Why would he care?
Well ....

Bellamy being offered a director of coaching position.

Smith a potential future coach.

They have a pretty solid/successful relationship.

And they will continue to be for the Storm for a long time to come.

It would probably be better to compare the predicted 2020 Titans line-up to the one that actually shaped up.

In which case Big League had:

1. AJ Brimson 2. Anthony Don 3. Brian Kelly 4. Kallum Watkins 5. Phillip Sami 6. Tyrone Roberts 7. Ash Taylor 8. Moeaki Foutaika 9. Nathan Peats 10. Jarrod Wallace 11. Kevin Proctor 12. Keegan Hipgrave 13. Jai Arrow

14. Tyrone Peachey 15. Shannon Boyd 16. Bryce Cartwright 17. Jai Whitbread

I had a similar line-up except I had Jai Arrow going to South Sydney early forcing Peats to lock and Ryan James on the edge before he required a knee reconstruction.

Again it highlights all the short term changes Holbrook made and what I hope to see from Kevie for the Broncos.

As far as the comparison, you have to remember Staggs is going to be out for half the season, so his spot is effectively taken by Tesi Niu. I'd say the pack was even back then but the spine and backs would just be a rung or two above the Broncos.

Riki had a pretty solid game tonight. Got over for a try by running a good line and grounded the ball despite plenty of attention. Made sure he stayed involved for the hard work too. Some solid tackles.

if we have our halves getting the ball on the run and taking it to the line this year, and he is hitting gaps he could be a handful.
