So that’s all you got out of it hey. Wow.
Couldn’t or wouldn’t see the train wreck for the trees. Ok, let’s leave it be.
What was soo special & original about what captain hindsight said? It's a cliché at this point.

Why is everyone stressing so much about re signing all and sundry to long term contracts so soon? We are at round 7 not round 24
Id rather the club wait until the new ceo starts before handing out massive contracts

I think it's the fear of what happens if they don't stay, by round 24 there won't be many options for the club

No no no boys this is great news, now if the broncos are a well run club they reduce their offer and get him to sign on unders. That 700k would quickly come down to 500k if we were like the storm or roosters. Blessing in disguise in my opinion.

There's a reason why it's looking like the club is being forced to focus inward, especially on an unproven turd with a poor attitude like Staggs or Dearden who hasn't achieved anything. Reynolds was never coming here, the Moses thing is a complete dead end and Townsend took the bank at the Cows. We're the reigning wooden spooners in a one team town with a ravenous media always out for blood. Unless we're paying huge overs, nobody wants to come here right now. The pressure of expectation is just too intimidating, and I think we greatly overestimate the pulling power of Walters as coach as well.

There's only one way out of this mess, and that is to play our own way out of the cellar so we become an appealing club to play at again, which puts us between a rock and a hard place, because while we have a quality pack, I just cannot see our current spine being capable of anything higher than 12th at most. It's gonna be a long road back.

The only one of those halves i would even consider is Reynolds anyway. wooden spooners or not

There's no easy ways back mate, even the Titans who spent all sorts of money and basically bought their team. The culture there is still garbage, they got pasted last week by a Manly side who themselves had been bog and I don't buy into it all being because one player made his comeback for Manly.

Latest rumours.

Titans, Cowboys, Newcastle and St George Illawarra are interested in fullback Selwyn Cobbo, who's currently contracted to 2022. If he stays with Brisbane he's likely to make top 30 next season.

Milford unlikely to be resigned. Talking to Bennett. Is being shopped around as a fullback. Expecting a $500,000 pay cut.

Walters:

“Last week it was a tough game. I was out at Souths and watched it ... if I was to be honest, no he sort of wasn’t up to the standard that we believe he can play at. But that’s one game of four or five, that’s how many it will take for him to get back to the football we know he can play.”

“It won’t be my decision, it will be Anthony’s decision as to whether he makes his way back into the team or not. He has been given some clear instructions about what he needs to do. When he does that, he will be back in the side.”

"He needs to continue to do what Milf can do well and that’s the points I made about ends of sets, his running game and defence. That’s what Milf is working on to get back into the side."

Cowboys want Kurt Capewell

Cowboys Michael Luck:

“We are OK for outside backs but Capewell is certainly a guy we are looking at to bring some experience to our side."

Holbrook thinks Staggs will stay with Brisbane:

"I thought he would stay at Brisbane. That was my gut feel on it all. But I don’t know for sure. I don’t really know where it sits, I thought we were interested in him but we have a meeting this afternoon around the recruitment stuff."

So does Walters:

"I expect [negotiations will be finalised] so in the next week or two ... I won't say it has been ongoing but it is a big decision for Kotoni and the Broncos as well as whether he stays or goes but I'm very confident we will hang on to Kotoni, I can see him wearing a Broncos jersey next year,"

that didn't take long for the media move on to hyping another one of our players

If he's doing the shopping, then that pisses me off ... because he didn't put it when we moved him to fullback. he could be an elite fullback if he did.

According to badel the sharks are already circling Cobbo, with the cowboys, newcastle, dragons and, you guessed it, titans trying to poach him.

They're like vultures aren't they, do they not develop any of their own players?

The bloke has barely played in a game in first grade and is under contract for another season and a half, yet they are making inquiries. It's unbelievable, talking about Selwyn Cobbo obviously.

Milford at fullback? I don't think he has that agility anymore, he'd need to seriously have a think about how much effort he wants to put in if he wants to play at fullback.

we must be the only reigning wooden spoon team in the history of world sport, to supply half the competition in the following years. normally players from wooden spoon teams don't attract a huge amount of attention
