yeah I had never even heard of cobbo until about a week ago when Big Pete Big Pete mentioned him. Badel is scouring bhq again.

Yeah let’s ban all posts that compliment juniors.

I actually wouldn’t be surprised if some clubs have guys who scour teams fan forums and identify posters who take keen interest in the lower grades, and then monitor their posts for who to keep an eye on.

He played a half on both sides in the Broncos Wynumm trial. Scored a try against Brisbane. But completely overshadowed by Walsh.

Our recruiters don’t. They don’t do fucking anything

So now Cobbo is the next best thing hey, gee I'm getting over it..
When will we be able to poach a junior that a club like the Rosters or Storm develop? Oh...
I think it's time we get Milford to grow a beard and long hair. We will call him Spillford and he will be the next greatest thing to come out of the Broncos development.
Hopefully he will pop up in Titans, Bulldogs, Knights, Cowboys or Bulldogs colours in 2022, or we might be able to organise a trade this year. Apparently he can play half or fullback, is one of the best kickers to come through the system and is also an extremely disciplined trainer.
Get writing Badel!

Apparently RTS has offered to play out of position for the rest of the season due to how impressed Walsh has been at training.
And we just let him walk. lol

Ironic that you cry about rich clubs poaching our talented juniors in the same post you mention the very highly rated young player we poached.

Seriously. We didnt let him walk. He was offered an amount we could not match.
If Walsh had stayed how would it improve our position.
We would be 400k down in our cap on a kid who hasn't played a game.

I'm not sure I would say that we poached Milford? I know he was at Canberra but from memory he was the one that wanted to come back to Brisbane for family reasons and was home sick. I also recall Canberra offering him more money than what we did at the time.
Anyway, if anyone wants to poach him, I'm all for it.

He obviously had class and he plays in a position we’ve been desperate to fill for years. 400k isn’t a huge gamble - look at how Ponga has turned out.

We then go sign Piakura, who had barely played against men either on the same amount. We’re about to offer a centre 700k, we gave Tom Flegler $600k. Sure it’s a risk but it isn’t even the biggest risk the club has taken recently or since, and it has the highest chance of working out. If anything Walsh showed even more promise than Piakura and he plays in a position with a far larger impact.

The mind boggles.

Wasn't the offer from the Warriors around 300k? Then a week later we sign Piakura for 400k, who also hasn't played a game..
imo we are in more need of a FB then a back-rower. If RTS is toying with the idea of a rookie coming in to take his position I dare say he can see some potential in the kid.

Id guess cobbo is rated higher internally for a future FB

Yes , if you add up those 4 players you just mentioned that is 2.1mill out of 9.6mill of our cap.
That goes a long way to explaining our situation .

That’s my point, the club should stop making shit decisions. They take risks and overpay players they shouldn’t then decide to be stingy when there’s a decent investment.

Speaking of highly rated juniors, I heard there is this gun 5/8 playing for Souths. Might be worth a look before he gets snapped up by another club. I'd hate to loose him on the potential I can see. A. Milford, hope that the boys in R&R can make a deal happen.

Milford at fullback? I don't think he has that agility anymore, he'd need to seriously have a think about how much effort he wants to put in if he wants to play at fullback.
I think he'd be fine in attack, but he'd be fucking spent in defence having to cover all over the field.

Even in attack he may not be a guy that will constantly push through the middle and play off the back of quick play the balls

True. If you know a way to predict better decisions that always work out you should let the club know otherwise it's called hindsight😁
