Do not get into any form of bidding war for Dearden. 300k as a back up half or no deal (in 2 years after he has developed a bit in the ISC, who knows)
$800k - $1 million for Reynolds 2 years, 3rd as a club option ... make it happen. I wouldn't say him to the Sharks is a sure thing, as the Sharks have a couple of younger halves they'll want to keep.

Agreed. From what I've seen there's a damn good player in there, but he needs some seasoning. Seasoning that he'll only get in ISC. If he's demanding an NRL half spot and money now, then it's a bye from me. If he's happy to cop a 300k 2yr deal while he learns in ISC, then I'm all in.

I just don't get it with Flegs, where's it all gone wrong?
Dearden can leave, Staggs would be nice to keep but no more than 500k with his issues and really need to keep Coates.
Do whatever you need to to get Reynolds, Opacic, Su'A, Gagai and Capewell.

Them still being rookies, facing loss after loss and no one experienced to help guide them. They'll come good IMO, but it might have to be at a different side where they can experience some wins and a proper mentor or leader on the field.

No idea mate he had the shoulder injury in the offseason and was quite sick apparently but I just think his confidence is shot ... doesn’t help he’s gassed after a few runs either

Why is there no talk about bringing Benji back again? I thought he was solid in his year with us and he's still doing good things for Souths - apart from a couple of defensive issues he did a stellar job at centre for them yesterday. He's just what we need to help mentor these younger guys and his experience in reading the game would be invaluable. He wouldn't break the bank either. Could we get him up here again?
We need leadership. Hands down the #1 thing we are lacking right now. And getting some in is the only way this shit show is going to turn around.
Agree we need to stop being held to ransom, if that's actually what's going on. By all reports Dearden/Staggs/Coates love the club and don't want to leave. Could the delays be due to waiting on DD to rubber stamp the deals, rather than the media beat-ups that these guys want more-more-more? Or am I giving the club too much credit... No way should the Cows be able to prise Dearden from us for under $350k. And Staggs should have his offer dropped substantially, immediately.

Completely agree a Benji should be at the broncos but he didn’t play centre he was just named there.

They shouldn’t be touching Staggs or Coates until we sort out the spine, somehow. We can grab any serviceable winger & centre and still come out ahead with an experienced half. But they won’t, and we will be still talking about it next year when Staggs is a disaster at 6 & Croft is our halfback.
Somehow the club have convinced themselves that halfback is an afterthought in the roster priorities. We saw it when hunt left and we went to market to buy a centre? We saw it when we re-signed a host of forwards after releasing the last makeshift halfback in nikorima, and again when we signed Croft despite having a kid in Dearden who we labeled the future of the club while playing him before he was close to ready. Moreover, because we neglected halfback we tried to make Milford the solution, attempting to turn him into a game manager, something he was never comfortable with and in the process have completely destroyed what he was good at.

Isn't Paix a halfback we're trying to turn into a hooker as well? I have zero faith in our R&R.

I don’t know where we go from here, the ideal solution for me would be signing Reynolds, but to get him to relocate out of Sydney will cost probably a million a year. Do we try & get someone like Aidan Sezer? Go after drinkwater as a fullback? Re-sign Milford on a one year 400k deal?
