Er, three months of being linked to every other club and dithering. Today, he's meeting with our CEO and Coach despite the Rabbitohs having offered to renew his contract for a year, and then pending review therafter. Very fair terms.

He is one of the best halfbacks in the game, their captain and has given them great service his whole career and they are insulting him with a one year deal. Despite all that he is not kicking stones and still playing at his best while trying to secure his future.

Aren’t we all. From all reports though Bennett has told them they need to keep him longer so perhaps it is the soon to be head coach that doesn’t want him.

It doesn’t matter if it’s smart or not, you said Reynolds was fucking them around. Reynolds appears to have very clearly expressed that he’s not interested in that deal. That isn’t fucking anyone around, it’s being transparent.
South’s aren’t sitting around thinking will he or won’t he, they know he won’t. They can move on.

He and Souths are still in negotiation, but at the same time he's very publicly talking to other clubs, or at least the media is making it public. This isn't that far removed from what's happening with Staggs, and what happened with Fifita. Maybe the sticky points are different but it's still about moving and money.
Actually, in Reynold's case it's only about money. In Staggs' case we're being led to believe the club has to sell itself to him because they've failed so miserably to provide decent halves for him to play outside. In a way, Staggs is making the club work on itself, rather than buy him with cash alone.

Because Bennett is behind the scenes doing one thing - recommending not to drop cash on Reynolds beyond a year - while in the media saying another. Who else but the coach would be assessing his value?
