Well this thread took a while to catch up on.

1. All that talk about Dufty is VERY similar to Reynolds around the time he signed - seems a really good chance he will go to Brissy, already signed? Not sure I like it but at 400k, if it is for two years, why not?
2. Cowboys in the race for Capewell? How? How do they have money? Look at their roster.
3. I would love to keep TPJ but it is an interesting question if we do need someone to leave for some reason between him and Lodge. Both are going well but Lodge is definitely higher priced.
4. Pereira? Well I guess he is at least good depth and we need a winger, so if he is cheap why not?
5. We haven't talked to Hodgson - I don't believe that but we certainly can't say we have, strong chance he will be at Brissy in '22.
6. It looks like Hook really, really wants to bring back those halcyon says of when the Broncs were mediocre - Hunt, Norman, Macca, McGuire, Beale, Oates, Milf, Molo, Sims.

Agree with summation of pretty well everything except TPJ.

He's basically the only strike weapon we currently have... If Staggs goes to 6 then we lose his strike out wide as well.

Lodge is only being proposed to leave because he has 2yrs of PO on his contract... I'd say broncos want to spend that on the spine.

Pereira would be handy depth if he's basically coming in on Kennar's wage

It's not obvious to me. I really don’t believe you guys really believe KW has control of the Broncos cap. He has a massive job just coaching. He'd likely say, I need a 6 a centre a fullback etc and the real power in the club, the holders of the purse strings would be making the offers. KW might be asked to develop a sales pitch, a blueprint, a plan going forward to assist in landing players but no, in my opinion he would definitely have nothing to do with the cash. Zero actual decision making authority.

According to Brent read, TPJ has asked if he’s in our plans going forward & the club is set to give him an answer next week. Read also acknowledges it’s hard to seperate fact from fiction in speculation surrounding our roster.

He also says there’s been no contact between Hodgson & the club. I don’t think that is at all surprising considering he’s still technically contracted....

FMD they better be letting TPJ know not only is he in our plans, but there is a captains spot waiting for him if he keeps up the good work.

Trbo, Teddy, Latrell, Papen, Laurie, Brimson, Ponga and Walsh/RTS are all much, much better in attack than Dufty.

You make a claim that he is close to the best attacker, then say "His defense must be fucking atrocious for no-one to want him" like you haven't watched him play.

Yes I am on crack but that doesn't change the fact that Dufty has better attacking stats than all the guys you mentioned.

I want to keep both (and would lose Flegler if we had to lose someone).

however, if i had to choose between Lodge and TPJ. then i'd take TPJ without thinking twice. on top of his work with the ball in hand, the work he has done shutting down opposition dangermen this year has been invaluable. add in a game manager (Reynolds) to that work and a strike player (Staggs) and there are bright days ahead.

I get that he’s turned a corner this season but those performances he delivered against the Roosters and the Titans and the Cowboys back in 2019 - that’s what he needs to produce every week or damn near close to it, to justify a $600,000 or $650,000 salary as a forward

this year absolutely ... he is finally living up to his potential and worth every cent of that 600k.

if we even get the chance to re-sign him for 600k we should consider that a win, considering he is likely to receive offers far bigger than the 600k he is currently on

We resign Riki and Piakura on upgraded deals (starter money) as well as Robati. We have TPJ on the books and we are still apparently chasing Capewell and Sua. How many 2nd rowers do we need? I think Capewell would be a good signing, but like others have said we need to stop spending money on forwards at the expense of spine players.
