That could change tho, depending how badly the Cows want Widdop.

Payten has merely said they dont have the dollars for him but if they move on Clifford and Drinkwater next year they might have enough money to convince Widdop to go there.
I thought a couple years ago we should have tried for clifford...these days i dont care as looks like we will be getting the dregs

Roosters post-wooden spoon bring in:

Keary
SBW
Jennings
Moa

Broncos post-wooden spoon bring in:

Asiata
Copley
Kelly
Mead

Wow.

Except their form was similar, if not worse before those situations. Which none of you geniuses are taking into account whilst trying to paint me into a corner.
Whats oates excuse?

What a shambles. We all come on here looking for some shred of good news and it never comes, sad sad times.
Last piece of good news was sacking seibold....its a shame the board didnt go with him

They're not clearing the decks for nothing, maybe they want to get rid of the players before announcing the new ones 🤔

Again, I hope you are right and I hope for something better than Asiata.

NRL.com running a top story based on Joffa calling himself an ex-Bronco on social media, is that what mainstream media has resorted to for facts now?

Yeah I hope so too but something is going on, you can't just move on this amount of players on decent coin and not have good replacements. Unless they are building a war chest for 22 and may bring in players that can do a job for for a year or 2. Who knows but there's definitely something brewing.

Seibold did exactly that

Mate I've always believed Isaako has copped it rough here. Chuck him in at centre to replace Staggs while he is out with that ACL injury. Most of people's problems with Isaako stems from him dropping a few high balls in a few games.. Not a big deal.

Has everyone forgotten the times where we would be awarded a penalty, choose to kick for touch and Milford would be holding the ball and looking for Isaako to kick it. Isaako is a leader, we've just never credited him as one.

GO ISAAKO
I think you’ll find he’s generally regarded as a good taker of bombs. It has always been his inability to stay on his wing and cost the team tries countless times that people aren’t happy with, I do think he can be a good player though.

EDIT: Please don't screenshot news articles, link directly instead.

Deeerrrrppppp. Has this only just "hit them over the last few weeks"?

What a joke.
**** it shits me, the good sides lock up their best players before they’re ever off contract and we just let ours run out and sign elsewhere.

because as many of us have been saying ... it is slim picking in the market this year, even before Seibs was sacked. what we are likely doing is making room to have a serious run at the much better 2022 market
It’s all good to say that but when the smarter teams re-sign their players before they’re off contract we end up looking like chumps waiting for the next seasons off contract list.

Other teams are signing players a year early and getting them to break contracts. The Broncos are waiting. Good stuff Broncos. Continuing to follow the rules when every other club bends them will keep us exactly where we are now.
Yep that’s it. You can’t just sit around and wait, you’ve got to be aggressive.

The thing is, if you bring in say Capewell, Allan and Lui now, you aren't buying superstars. You are buying guys who can make an immediate impact and STILL have the dosh to go after Gran...I mean stars for 2022 when you are finally rid of inflated deadwood like Milford, Bird (stupidest thing ever to pay him to play elsewhere on a player option) and others.
Granville? 🧐

If (and that is a big if as it is the mole) lodge goes, we still have a decent (not the best but decent) middle rotation albeit light on experience: hass, carrigan, flegler, TPJ, kennedy, bullemore (possibly asiata).

Particularly when our 2015 year our middles were parker, blair and thaiday (who were previously second rowers), and wallace, dodd and offa (who were all pretty inexperienced).

Would it be worth giving jordan grant a crack in the squad? He is older (26) but has experience playing in senior footy.
Lodge or another overpaid middle had to go for balance. I presume we will kick on a bit like with McGuire bit it won't be Bird like. Maybe with McGuire we spread the chip in over a few years for ease of cap management rather than a one hit reduction. Might make sense that way?

Granville? 🧐
You’d need to be specific; if our R and R team were told to sign “Grant” for 500 k they’d come back and say “He negotiated really hard and we had to pay 650k”....and then on day one of preseason we’d find out that the spuds had gone and signed Tim Grant.....or some bloke called Grant from accounts....

R and R is a fitting description. They seem to get plenty of it.
