I'm gunna guess Tigers backed off TPJ coz of the suspension maybe?
More about the coin I would assume - although both come with the controversy tag.

YayLooks like lodge and TPJ staying now. No one wants to pay for them it seems. Fair enough too, especially with lodge.
Chris Garry I believe saying now that Lodge and TPJ are staying for the rest of the season.
Dave Fifita is only 21. I'm pretty sure around this time Dave Taylor left for South Sydney because he couldn't get a regular crack in first grade at the Broncos. He was starting to play at the end of his tenure with the Broncos after he made the decision to leave though.
Bottom line Fifita needs to add more to his game. But to suggest he's a scrub and he's finished at 21 is a bit disingenuous. No, I'm not suggesting you are but some are on here. For QLD he needs to be part of the solution not part of the problem and his game needs to grow.
The other thing against Manly he couldn't make an impact in the second half because Gold Coast couldn't get the ball back. Its wasn't all his fault.
The club now needs to stop fluffing about, play out the year with the squad you have.Chris Garry I believe saying now that Lodge and TPJ are staying for the rest of the season.

They have been two of our better performers, so work on repairing the relationship and get a bloody win on the board.
I really don't want b2b wooden spoons.
Think their storm flogging might have suggested the players they have at the club currently are cutting it and Pangai wouldnt make the club instantly better in that department either.I'm gunna guess Tigers backed off TPJ coz of the suspension maybe?
Yeah I get that, but they have been vocal the TPJ gas fallen victim to salary Cap constraints and are happy for him to walk.the club never said they would be released mid-season ... just for 2022

Lodge has said he has been told you're gone/you're staying.
Now they the club has to wash the egg off its face and just keep going.
Agreed, it would be so Broncos to have him change his game up to fit. And lose his best assets. UghI dont see him succeeding there at all. People hold onto this game he played for Tonga as an example of why he could succeed but i dont see it. I dont see him having anything i'd want from a half tbh. I reckon he will come in and do well at the start because he offers something different and he is competitive, and people will get carried away with it ( a bit like Gamble ) but the more he plays there the more his deficiencies will show. His strength is his power and pace running on an edge. I've said it before, but he isnt going to get that kind of room as regularly at 6, and he is going to have a lot more traffic running at him and a lot more defence at 6 to contend with. Its going to dull his game unless we are dominating games. He is going to have to change his game a lot to be a success.
Well done GordonChris Garry I believe saying now that Lodge and TPJ are staying for the rest of the season.
What an embarrassing mess this club is currently.
Lodge doesn't have to deliver a thing. He's got a contract whether Walters likes it or not. It's absolutely awful man management from Walters.I still think this announcement is much about nothing. Kevin Walters says that no one is going anywhere, but also adds he would like to 'finish the season on a positive note'.
It's basically no one is going anywhere for the rest of the season. Walters suggest the players want stability, but then says that Tevita Pangai Jnr will be staying at the Broncos till the rest of the year.
The only positive the players in question (Matt Lodge, Pangai) can take out of it. Is it may buy them some time to pick up their form and give the Broncos hierarchy a rethink. But they have to do it, that is it in a nutshell. They have to start delivering wins.
