Lodge doesn't have to deliver a thing. He's got a contract whether Walters likes it or not. It's absolutely awful man management from Walters.
Yeah if you’re going to knife your players and attempt to force them out instead of honour their contracts (rightly or wrongly), you’d want to be fairly sure that it’s gonna work because otherwise you’ll have a team full of guys who you tried to force out. What a culture that must build.

And you most certainly don't do it publicly. FFS this is like 101. Treat your employees with the greatest respect and they'll run through walls for you.

If they really didn't want him do it privately, work out a deal then move them on. Playing it out in the media is bad for morale and bad for negotiations. Clubs know we're desperate to offload them so they can lowball.

Kev might know coaching but he needs to learn man management because that's arguably more important than the technical side of coaching.

So who is responsible for all this stupidity? Is it Donuts? Kevvie? Nolan? Moses?

if i was chasing likes, then i wouldn't say 3/4 of the shit i do on here ... i'd just fall into line

Riccio has linked Gagai with a return to the Knights, says they are keen on him and can afford his asking price of 500-550k

Doesn't say if they're prepared to pay that or not.

Says there are a few clubs interested, so he's taking his time

I think Kev gets frazzled in front of the media, in his interview today it almost sounded like he is out of recruitment and retention discussions, he said "things have changed in that role", then said "I am not going to comment on that it's up to Simon, DD and Ikin, I just want to coach". Also one of the blokes asked who would be running things on game day Croft or Gamble, Walters reply was about how good Croft can be and also Milf. Milford is injured, so it says to me Kev's brain is all over the place in these situations. I know public speaking is not everyone's bag, I have issues with it. But it does make you think if similar things happen in tough conversations with players . Players may in fact come away confused because Kev doesn't talk well under pressure, he loses track and goes back to key talking points he has practiced I believe.

Also didn't hear a question from Badel, any chance he was not allowed in due to his Kev has six games or he is out article. Would be great if so.

Sounds like they’ve taken the keys back off Kev.

That's actually not a bad point about Kevie. When you think about Fitler and Meninga, they not the greatest club coaches at all. But at Origin level they knew their weaknesses, and covered them. Meninga kept Hagan as an assistant for years, and from memory Fitler has Joey Johns as his assistant/tactitian doesn't he?

So with Kevie it might be he may not need as many tactical assistant coaches, but more specific support. Like a spin doctor or a team manager for example.

I don’t know if that can work. Really your head coach is the figure head of your club in many ways. If he sucks as a man manager and also as a spokesman, he’s in the wrong job. At the moment Kevvie looks like he is in way over his head and it is absolutely embarrassing watching him look like he has no idea what he’s doing and what the club is doing around him in 9.9 out of every 10 interviews.

I'm not saying he should stay away from the media though. More that he may need a communications director/speechwriter type to help him with the messaging.

I also don't think that a team manager would take anything away from Kevie being the figurehead. It would just mean somebody else handled the player issues and concerns.

You could look at it like this, we didn't turn Tallis into a playmaker when he became the captain, he stayed in the second row. It didn't affect how the team played or his ability to lead it.

If Kevin Walters is more tactical/football minded than managerial, then as the figurehead and leader, his coaching and support staff should be able to make up for and balance out his flaws.
