Also one of the blokes asked who would be running things on game day Croft or Gamble, Walters reply was about how good Croft can be and also Milf. Milford is injured, so it says to me Kev's brain is all over the place in these situations.

Not anymore. He was training with the reserves yesterday.

I'm not saying he should stay away from the media though. More that he may need a communications director/speechwriter type to help him with the messaging.

I also don't think that a team manager would take anything away from Kevie being the figurehead. It would just mean somebody else handled the player issues and concerns.

You could look at it like this, we didn't turn Tallis into a playmaker when he became the captain, he stayed in the second row. It didn't affect how the team played or his ability to lead it.

If Kevin Walters is more tactical/football minded than managerial, then as the figurehead and leader, his coaching and support staff should be able to make up for and balance out his flaws.

Kev needs someone to pre-write his media comments and to man manage his team?

We’ll also have to look at someone to cover his bench rotation and team selections. Defensive structures, attacking structures. Basically what Kev needs is an actual coach while he gets to live out his childhood dream.

Like you , supercoach shed ?

You are describing an assistant coach my man.

Ive been pretty straight forward about my views regarding Kev. I don’t think there’s a good enough option currently available that justifies sacking Kevin. I’d hope the club brings in the best possible assistant coaches and start forcefully tapering some of his eccentricities - especially regarding team lists / roster management.

If none of the top options makes themselves available at the end of Kev’s contract, you’ve had 12 months to prepare his assistant coach for the top job. Ryles, Henry, Flanagan are some names that jump to mind.

You don't think Kevvie can grow as a coach ? Ryles another unknown rookie coach , Henry hasn't been a success as head coach either and Flannigan can **** off .

Does Kevvie have to do media? Can Ikin maybe do it instead?

He may be able to. I hope he can but he hasn’t shown any thing in his coaching career so far that fills me with any confidence. The one thing I thought Kev would at least be great at is improving the feeling at the club and getting the players to like him and play for him - simplify things and give players stability and confidence.

He’s absolutely not done that. Al the constant chopping and changing, saying one thing and doing another, players being told they aren’t wanted and then saying they’re staying, dropping players for seemingly no logical reason, giving good players next to no minutes, no consistency in bench usage, forgetting to sub players back on. There’s no way the players aren’t even more confused than ever. It’s a miracle if through all of the uncertainty and instability the players have endured this season that they have any confidence left in Kev. He has shown zero conviction toward any of his decisions.

I actually wonder about Henry to be honest. He wants to coach again and while he won't likely get you to a premiership, he has some decent success in making bog average squads competitive, he's done it twice with NQ and the GC. He is also a renowned tactician and we could certainly use that.

I don't even think you need to necessarily replace Kevvie immediately. Bring Henry on board and if some way into next season Kevvie still looks well out of his depth as he currently does, give Henry the job in the interim and hold out the possible full-time carrot depending on results thereafter.

Hard to be a great man manager when the broom is going through the club , so many fingers being pointed at Kevvie with no definitive proof it's him. Players are being pushed out but can't be moved atm so of cause he's got to change his tune.
You have 0 clue what's happening behind the scenes and obviously aren't willing to see the outcome before running your mouth . These players have done **** all to be worried about their feelings but by the sounds your happy to have empathy towards them but not the coach that has walked into this shit show of a team.

I feel like you've missed a lot of points there. Is the way the club is run responsible for Kevvie's poor bench usage, chopping and changing of the team every week, no discernible game plan and him looking like a goose in every interview is it?

Henry was actually going alright the season the rape plane showed up and got him sacked. Everything went downhill the moment they signed dickhead.

Well this i am sure is getting planned behind the scenes , be it Henry or others . Henry has shown his skills but I don't rate him as a head coach.

Sounds like they’ve taken the keys back off Kev.

Not at all, part of the review found that people were doing too much and changing lanes too much. It's been simplified. Instead of Kevvie being at 456 meetings and sorting out things all the time- let us sort it out and then talk to you about it and see what you think and then go from there.

They're trying to get everyone doing three things really well instead of everyone doing 10 things average.
