I feel like you've missed a lot of points there. Is the way the club is run responsible for Kevvie's poor bench usage, chopping and changing of the team every week, no discernible game plan and him looking like a goose in every interview is it?
People complain about coaches bench decisions all the time, people didn't like Bennett's, griffins, Seibold’s. He's a rookie coach with rules changing each year he deserves some grace and it isn't a game changer for me.
Game plans , well 1910 has mentioned a few times that plans were in place and players didn't follow them , hence people being dropped. As for the chopping and changing its the nature of the beast when you have a team so bent out of shape.
People are finger pointing because we haven't been good for a long time, and that's why the broom is out , the playing group got half a season to show their worth and now it's time to start moving forward .

Hard to be a great man manager when the broom is going through the club , so many fingers being pointed at Kevvie with no definitive proof it's him. Players are being pushed out but can't be moved atm so of cause he's got to change his tune.
You have 0 clue what's happening behind the scenes and obviously aren't willing to see the outcome before running your mouth . These players have done **** all to be worried about their feelings but by the sounds your happy to have empathy towards them but not the coach that has walked into this shit show of a team.
I have a lot of empathy for Kev. It must a shit show and I can’t imagine how tough it was to do so without a CEO for 6 months.

Im not attacking Kev’s character, or even the results. I just don’t like any of his tactical moves so far this season (outside of the Panthers game plan). Hopefully if he gets enough smart operators around him, he can just focus on being passionate and building culture because he is struggling in most other facets so far.

Hopefully a good enough roster and club structure will be put in place that the head coach doesn’t need to be a superstar to succeed. Kev needs to significantly improve though to get an extension.

i do think the rest of this season is Kev’s chance to prove himself. He’s got to have his little deck shuffling experiment for 15 rounds and we are now basically at full strength (except TPJ but you can’t use the guy who you tries to offload early being suspended as an excuse). He and the team have also had a break to regather themselves. He’s had a good look at the entire group now and got to experiment with his bench. He should now be able to pick the best possible line up and bench rotation (at least in his opinion) week in week out and show his coaching ability to have them improve and finish the season strong.

I don't think any of us have enough info to point the finger at who specifically is to blame for this ongoing mess.

We can only agree that it is indeed, a total mess.

It's as if nobody at the club is on the same page at all or some factions are working against others.

Now we have a team full of players who we have publicly told to walk. I've never seen anything like it.

Agreed but it's a process and time will only tell.

Media doesn't want to hear from the football manager on day to day stuff
All the more reason to let Ikin in front of the cameras and mics. Who gives a **** what the media want?

Just thought it may be a requirement that Kev has to front up. I'd be looking at taking as much of that away from Kev as possible within the boundaries.

You know I agree, Kev had a lot on his plate early this year with a bunch of numpties not willing to act or help with these issues. Hopefully DD and Ikin can relieve pressure on the bloke and he can get his focus right on the field. I bet its hard to keep your message right when your trying to be the coach and also trying to get the club back on track and nobody is willing to help.

So did Kev spill the beans again and let everyone know Milf is back in.

He was just talking about the options he has in the halves.

Croft and Gamble were training in the halves.

I think this we all agree on and we all hope Kevvie comes good. I think we are all willing him on and are also willing to give him another year from now at least. The issue that thus far, he hasn't shown much but again, there could well be any number of reasons for that and several could be beyond his control.

You dont have to look too far to see some glaring issues.

If you dont hang onto the ball you wont have the ball... the one stat I was most interested in seeing was time in own territory. I think we'd be near the bottom on that stat as well.

Possession is king in Vlando ball and we get barely any of it to begin with, but when we do it's either in our own end or we drop 1/4 of the time.

That bulldogs stat is crazy. They’ve had the best completion rate in 2018, 2019, and so far this season. Last year they were 5th.

I wonder if the completion rate is so high due to how conservative (ineffective) their attack is.

Completion rate can be high from being super conservative with the ball, but their possession rate is very low... so whilst they complete well they have no ball and no attacking players to do anything with it even when they do have it.

Titans had like 95% completion vs sea eagles, but conceded 50pt in a half because they only had like 4 sets all half.

Possession and territory are probably the more important stats under Vlando ball.

The possession stats basically look like the ladder, but we dont give ourselves a chance to compete in that department given how bad our completion rate is.

Not at all, part of the review found that people were doing too much and changing lanes too much. It's been simplified. Instead of Kevvie being at 456 meetings and sorting out things all the time- let us sort it out and then talk to you about it and see what you think and then go from there.

They're trying to get everyone doing three things really well instead of everyone doing 10 things average.
Hopefully that frees up Walters to get the players doing just one thing well.

I actually wonder about Henry to be honest. He wants to coach again and while he won't likely get you to a premiership, he has some decent success in making bog average squads competitive, he's done it twice with NQ and the GC. He is also a renowned tactician and we could certainly use that.

I don't even think you need to necessarily replace Kevvie immediately. Bring Henry on board and if some way into next season Kevvie still looks well out of his depth as he currently does, give Henry the job in the interim and hold out the possible full-time carrot depending on results thereafter.

I think you are overstating his success in North Queensland. I think he's time there was generally a bit of a failure. I know Thurston has stated in his book that he did clash with Neil Henry.

I've seen the opinion that it was Jarryd Hayne that undermine Henry at the Titans. But I have also read that the Titans didn't have recruitment manager at the time. And Henry was giving salary bids to players less then the players thought they were worth which also rubbed them the wrong way.

When Henry's name came up for the Manly job. It was reported Daly Cherry-Evans warned Manly if Henry was given the job he would ask for a release from his contract.

I'm not saying the players need to pampered as athletes but they don't need to be feuding with the coach either. And the vibe I get from Henry is he will do that.

Fair points, I wasn't aware of any of them as from what I've seen (which is very limited), he seems like a good, likeable bloke. I do kind of like the idea of under offering players and having a my way or the highway approach though. Hehe

The players we have signed or have been most closely linked too were never coming to us mid-season.

Lee, Capewell, Reynolds, all up to their necks in the premiership race.

It beggars belief then that this simple fact of having no options whatsoever to replace the guys who have been publically told to leave seems to have occured AFTER they were told....and not before?

Seems incredulous, and yet...here we are...

Something is deeply and irrevocably broken at this club.

How does this entice anyone else we may be interested in to sign up?

I cant for the life of me see how this will translate in to wins on the field....i think we have another spoon this year

The leaks are still coming after White and Nolan have left the club and Donuts has been proactive in trying to damage control. Now, who could it be still leaking info? Good thing we have no bloke at the club who is REALLY high up, a fan of another club, works for a giant media company and has just been extended for longer in his role.

So I have no clue who the leak might be.

you'll be one of the first to complain when the leaks dry up 😉
