If staggs doesn't play 6 and plays centre we need a 6 to feed him early ball not be run first player and if we have a runner at 6 we need a fullback that can ball play and we don't have that.

Not true, if Staggs plays centre it'll be on the right hand side, which is where Reynolds will be.

I agree that we need a Fullback who is a competent ball player, but that'll be the situation regardless of who we have at 6.

You deserve to be degraded, you post some of the most ill-informed suggestions out of anyone I've ever seen on this forum, yet you have the audacity to shit on other people's ideas? You should really take a step back and reflect.

Your opinion is that Brooks is crap, your counter proposal is that guys like Walters & Kelly are better options..? Like.. come on, you aren't even trying to come across like you know what you're talking about.

You post the YouTube videos because they are how you form opinions on the players you suggest. I can almost guarantee you've never watched at least half of the players you suggest we sign. People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

What makes you think that your opinion deserves an essay in response from me? You rate yourself pretty highly don't ya? Sad guy

You can almost guarantee nothing my man.

Brooks is crap, in my opinion.

Brooks could be a handy pick-up but not at the Broncos. He's the type of player who either needs to go to a strong environment like Sydney or Melbourne or continue to stay out of the limelight and go to a Cronulla. There are expectations when you come to the Broncos and I don't think Brooks has the mental fortitude to survive.

On top of that they already have a 7 in Reynolds. Yes, Brooks plays on the left-hand side but he's a first receiver through and through. It'd be like oil and water their games don't complement one another and I don't think Brooks can adjust to the role.

The Broncos also have to be mindful about who they recruit to the club. They need to avoid the temptation of signing a project player, they need to bring in players who can actually change the culture, not diminish it.

Was good enough to win Dally M halfback of the year & finish 3rd in the Dally M voting in 2018, but now he just sucks and there's no point in even considering him at a cut-price, on a short-term deal.

Certainly glad you're not in charge.

If it were up to you lot we'd be cycling through journeymen at five-eighth until the next Raiders Anthony Milford becomes available, spoiler, that opportunity may never arise again.

We have to try a short-term solution at some point.

In fairness, if you put out a noted likely unpopular opinion, you have to expect rebuttal. It is also pretty poor form of you to talk down other posters for expressing their opinion. Your opinion is no more or less valid than anyone else's, even a noted Youtube highlight watcher.

The reality is, Milford was the 2018 POTY for Brisbane and we are getting rid of him, so accolades, particularly in the NRL, don't always mean much.

You are talking about getting Brooks cheap and if we could get him around 300k, sure it is worth the risk but he isn't going to come for that most likely. Most likely, we'd still have to chip in 500k and look at how that experiment has gone with Croft.

You said yourself, we need a short-term solution and we have several in Gamble, Walters, Kelly most likely, even Staggs and unfortunately for all involved, likely still Croft on a stupid deal.

That 500k you'd need to take a punt on Brooks would be FAR, FAR better put towards a 1 or 9. We don't need any more risks in the halves than we already have.

Widdop would be a much better purchase assuming they both cost the same price. Widdop would probably cost less at this point.

You could sign Widdop on a two year deal and have one of the most professional halves combinations in the NRL. Would also like to see him link up with his fellow Englishman, Herbie, on that left edge.

It won't happen though.. But in my opinion Widdop would be a much better option than Brooks.

Does noone remember that we had a choice between Croft (400k) and Jamal Fogarty (bottom dollar) and we seemingly chose Croft because he was the more popular name.. Not because he had shown he's better than Fogarty at playing rugby league.

I suggested Fogarty here many times and was ridiculed for it.

Now isn't he the Titans 7 and captain?

The right option isn't always the most popular player available. Kelly and Gamble definitely are good enough to partner Reynolds in the halves. We shouldn't really be too concerned about our 6 for next year. I'm more concerned about who our fullback will be.

(Brooks is Croft)

It isn't a case of one or the other though, we don't need anymore risky halves, we need proven, solid players and a 1 and/or definitely a 9. No more broken/inconsistent types.

You were bagged for not knowing who he played for and never having seen him play- he won player of the year and then the next day you wanted the Broncos to sign him- with a youtube clip.

Reynolds will play both sides and will be first reciever he won't be the one getting it to staggs early.
And not necessarily for example Nsw when they have cleary, luai and teddy at the back luais job is to get the ball early to turbo and trell and teddy can run. Game 3 they didn't see early ball because they had wighton and teddy both runners.

excuse me what? I don’t want brooks, how does that mean I want a journeyman? I’m so confused right now.

Ftr I want to wait for Ponga, Grant or Munster. Failing that I’ll take Brandon smith. We are an elite club, we should have elite signings.
