Safe, conservative. Arthars, Asiata, Copley, Kelly, Levi, Mead, Te'o.. Seriously, could you assemble a list of more boring players if you even tried?

I don't think signing Brooks would be out of the box for the Broncos. It would be Brodie Croft all over again, trying to take somebody elses discards and get value out of it.

Walker didn't leave because the Broncos didn't value him. He left because the Broncos were a known basket case and all the managers were directing their talent elsewhere. On top of that they had just annoited Tom Dearden as the future halves prospect and we all saw how well the club developed him.

EDIT: How did AJ and Tui get grouped up in that lot? 😆

No way!

That's disgusting.

Brooks is the main problem with the Tigers. Also, him and Croft look and play like they are twins. They both suck.. We still have to get Croft off our books for next year.. Gamble is so much better than both of them.

He's nothing like Croft with how he plays. Depending on the price, he does have the game to compliment Reynolds. I think he suffers a bit like Milford in terms of him being expected to be the main playmaker when his game probably more lends itself to being in support of a dominant halfback. He's a better half than anyone we have currently at the club ( unless Milf gets his mojo back, which he wont here).

Gamble will fade and go the way of Turpin. If we had any half decent halves he wouldnt be anywhere near our side, and Walters is about the same. Both good competitors, but you can only get away with that for so long in spine positions until you get found out, as we are seeing with Turpin.

The whole spine of 1,6,7 and 9 need sorting. We have our 7. Staggs is going to be our 6 for better or worse so that leaves the 1 and 9. Niu and Isaako are so inept in the fullback positions its not funny, Cobbo needs a good year minimum in ISC , and Turpin in the short term is ok, but as soon as a good hooker is available we need to be going all in on them.

None of that changes the fact he is a risk and an expensive one at that. We need a 9 more than anything, not ANOTHER punt on a half at another club who might be good if he just doesn't have to do all the organising...remind you of anyone currently at the club?

Not that we are going to find a 9 for next year but agreed. Staggs is the only punt we should take in the halves and if not we stick to what we know will at least get the job done to what we hope as a top 8 standard in gamble and Kelly.

So without having to read pages and pages of no rumours are there any rumours or Is it just gags?
If so it looks like we are still short a few players for 2022..

1.
2.
3. Staggs
4. Gagai
5.
6. Walters
7. Reynolds
8.
9.
10. Haas
11.
12. Capewell
13.

14.
15.
16.
17.

Mind you, probably put up more of a fight then the team that rolled out yesterday.

The Staggs experiment needs to start this year so we have a full offseason to either persist with staggs at 6 or get a combo with Kelly or gamble going with Reynolds.
With a good full pre season under his belt Kelly could do really well in the 6.

Lol, you certainly proved me wrong with that list, hahaha. That's horrific.

I disagree in regards to the Croft & Brooks comparison, Croft showed glimpses of promise at the Storm, but realistically, you'd struggle to find more than 3 or 4 high quality games that he's put together in his entire career. Brooks on the other hand has very good games quite regularly, and has proven over several month long stretches that he can be a great half.

The way he ended the 2019 season is a prime example of what he can do, over the final 7 weeks of the 2019 season he accumulated 2 tries, 2 linebreaks, 11 try assists, 8 linebreak assists & 5 forced dropouts. Since then, he's been moved around positionally, had games off the bench, had a rotating group of players inside and outside him, several different halves partners, coaching turmoil, etc.

I don't see it as taking somebody else's discard and trying to get value out of it, I see it as an opportunity to buy someone for a cut-cost price, who has shown as recently as 18 months ago that he can be a one of the most damaging halves in the game when in the right situation. Are the 2022 Broncos the right situation to get the best out of him? Perhaps, perhaps not. For the right price, I'd certainly be willing to find out.

You obviously don’t know much about coaching, mate. What you do is train all off season with a halves combination and then change it 120 minutes into the season. Then what you do is change it another 8 times in 16 games.
