Oh in that case sure, Tino will sign for 1 year until we sort out Haas.
He needs to keep his nose clean. If he can he can become the face of the game.
I think people could easily see he was special. They still have to fulfil it. The Coal Train was the same. There's been some really top notch kids that just never achieved what they could have.
It's something I've said before, you have to take a punt on potential but if you want to lock them down long term you are taking that risk and paying them for a period of their contracts where they aren't worth the money they are on.
So, we are losing Flegs and need to replace him next year. How about a 1 yr deal for Tino for next year with options to extend if Haas plays silly buggers.
If Haas stays, maybe we can't afford to keep him, but the upside for Tino is that although he has one yr on a lower wage, we are a premiership contender with the best middle forwards in the comp. If Haas doesn't sign, then we immediately extend Tino with Haas's money. Or if we have space in the cap for 2025, the we back end a 2 yr deal for Tino from 2024.
Difference with Payne was the cardio .
You don`t have great cardio from talent alone . It takes hard work and consistency .
you see guys like him come and take it for granted then you see guys like jyy who was as talented but had it all taken away such a shamePayne talent wise is nowhere near Big Dave. Payno is a superb athlete who works hard. Not saying he isnt a talented player, but if you could have ever got a work ethic into Taylor you have the best forward to have ever played the game imo, and probably one of the greatest players of all time. Such a shame when these blokes with immense talent just dont have the work rate to go with it.

forever hate the vermin for that
A lot of guys with talent drop out when the competition gets tougher .Payne talent wise is nowhere near Big Dave. Payno is a superb athlete who works hard. At least his podcast is doing alrightA lot of guys with talent drop out when the competition gets tougher .
I remember at high school there was a guy from the school across town who was Qld 100m champion and would score tries for fun .
I talked to an old League coach from Mt Isa and was wrapping the guy saying he has size and speed . Mt Isa guy watched him and said he wont be successful . I asked why . He said he has never had to try his hardest . He will fail when the going gets tough . Sure enough he signed on with the Tweed Seagulls and was never heard of again .
This man. Probably my biggest hate. We have to scrap for blokes who are brand name while other clubs resign top tier talent without bo peep being said.I see Campbell Graham resigned with South’s. Can only imagine the media circus that would have played out for the last 4 months if he played for the broncos. Did anyone hear shit about this until now? How the **** does the best centre in the game have no interest from a rival club? Our blokes can’t get with 24 months of their contract period with a shit storm. It must drive our back office fucking mental!
Somewhat , it is worth remembering we have one of the best spines in the comp for the cheapest overall price. Walsh at 400k is an absolute steal, Billy has proved pretty good considering he’s only just above base wage. Ezra plays above his pay grade (although we raise him and he will need a top up) and our Reynolds success story is amazing. Then you have Patty and Riki signed Long term on unders as well. This man. Yes, but media had Reynolds going to other clubs before us. Patty was chased and no club is chasing Walters. He's improved put of sight, but he's not hot property.Somewhat , it is worth remembering we have one of the best spines in the comp for the cheapest overall price. To be fair he still had a year left on his contract, and was extended before other clubs could provide an offer. Probably also helps that his manager wasn't making statements that they want to "test the market".I see Campbell Graham resigned with South’s.
