Broncos V Sea Eagles (SPOILERS)

Haha come on, are we SERIOUSLY going to blame this on Henjak? [icon_lol1. Let's get real - We played poorly, it had nothing to do with our game plan or anything - It was more to do with out lack of enthusiasm and urgency for most of the part.

Did some of you miss the first half of football? Overall, it was a good solid peformance. The last 15 minutes of the first half was under-rated. Manly came at us so many damn times and we shut them down with some good defence. 12-6 at halftime considering Manlys opportunities at times, was a good result.

Spot on Rock. Can't beleive Henjack has been targeted already, is that a forum record ?

I wouldn't read too much into todays loss... besides that our ruck defence probably does need some tightening up.

Wasn't a bad performance for a team with an average age just over 22. One of the reasons i was saying Thorn should have been kept for an extra year...

What we need is for Stagg to play like a forward and just let Wallace do everything else. Wallace just needed to take more control today IMO. I'd still have Stagg at 5/8, we've won games this year with Stagg there so I don't see the problem. He just needs to adjust his game slightly to suit Wallace.

I disagree with this.

Against weaker teams we can afford Stagg playing five-eighth, but when it comes to title contenders like Manly, having Stagg at five-eighth is a real weakness.

Against the better teams Wallace will find himself with less time and space to make decisions and if he's our only option he'll continue being targeted. Why? Because he's our only real attacking 'playmaker'. They won't worry about Stagg because he has no passing game and no kicking game.

I do agree with you on Reece Robinson though, one week he's hot shit and today he had a shocker. I have massive doubts over his defence - tackling and jumping for kicks was extremely poor today. Plus his kick returns are rather timid.

Eastwood needs a good kick up the arse as well, hardly even noticed him out there.

I was impressed with Boyd once again, managed to break a few tackles and looked dangerous whenever he had the ball.

I hope this isn't a preview of what it will be like with Henjak coaching.

[icon_lol1.

You win the prize for being the first to blame Henjak.

I am betting Henjak has been coaching the side since WB decided to leave.

Thats right Ningna this is the reason we brought Wallace because Lockyer couldn't do it all now Bennett expects Wallace to do it all. It just doesnt work because we need more than one option, we even need an option on both sides of the ruck.

Henjak has a lot to learn. He's never coached before.I'm not targetting him, just saying he has a lot to learn which he himself admits.

As for the other point - yeah, we led at half time.

Pity the game is not 40 minutes.

Missed the game, had to go work, doesnt sound too good though from what Ive read in here...Hope the boys can rally and look at nextweeks game :!:

Much needed reality check imo.

Although we've been able to score points, the last few games we've let in far too many points and in particular the second halves.

Just wondering, whats our record like when we get behind? We seem to drop the bundle when we get behind.

How do you know Hunt wouldn't be a good 5/8th??? He played 2 or 3 games at halfback last season I can't recall him ever playing 5/8th. I wouldn't move him to 5/8th but I 'd love to know your reason behind saying he wouldn't cut it at 5/8th??? He will be our 5/8th when Lockyer retires.

Hunt played 5/8th in a trial against Redcliffe and he was fucking terrible. The only thing he did well was his kicking game but he can do that playing fullback anyway. There is only one position for him and that is fullback.

In saying that I think we need another 5/8th option to Stagg. Not sure where to look for that one though.

So your willing to base Hunt playing 5/8th on one game?? I agree we definetly need another option at 5/8th Stagg is a backrower and occasianal centre IMO.

Not just that one game. He was tried in the halves in a few games in 2007, did not much good. As soon as he moved back to fullback it made a hell of a lot of difference, for the good.

I certainly do hope that this serves as a wake up call, all too often at the Broncos we tend to see these things go unchecked. Good luck next week, it could be a long day in the paddock.

I dont know if this was directly said already but we had a lack of experience out there today. No Lockyer, Carroll and Hodges really showed these younger guys have a way to go yet. To me that is exciting, although I am dissapointed in the loss.
