Vaeau was pretty good last week. Who is Luke Harlen? will this be his debut? Scott Bolton was extremely crap last week, dropped the ball more times then Clinton :|

I heard that Thurston is out of the cowboys team for 4 weeks.

They only just named him in the team! I think they're going to give him until game day to see how his hernia is going, or at least seeking a specialist opinion.

I remember the Cowboys beating us a couple of years back when Thurston got injured in the first 5 mins.

Of course Bowen was in the side then, and he won MOTM IIRC.

Yeah, without Bowen OR Thurston there's no chance.

Yeah that was 2006 i think, just after we came back from that break...

it's a torn meniscus in his knee ... requiring immediate surgery

Oh really? So he's got another injury. That's too bad.

Thursto has to pace himself a bit more, hes been going hard for 3 seasons now, looks like it's taking its toll on his body

Yeah, Thurston is like Lockyer. He tries too hard sometimes. Probably even more so than Lockyer actually...you always see him give it his all. He probably does need a break before he burns himself out.

same shit different round [icon_non atleast Perry isn't playing

JT being out will be a massive plus for us!

If we dont win this game we surely do have massive issues. Their forward pack is still decent though so I am not getting too confident! I really dont understand why Tronc isnt starting, hes easily better than Vaeau

Stagg and Carroll are in doubt with ankle injuries.

if both are out i would go with Robinson st center and Eastwood to lock. Kenny to bench if fit, else Ah Mau

Agree with the forwards, but I don't think Robinson could handle centre TBH.

If Stagg's ruled out, I'd go with

2. Robinson
3. Kemp
4. Boyd
5. Manihera

I think he could handle it alot better then he can handle the wing. Id go with
2. Kemp
3. Moon
4. Boyd
5. Manihera

Robinson shouldnt be in the team.

True he's a better player, but which player is better doesn't always have the final say when it comes to bench rotation. It's merely a question of tactics - case in point, Tunza is pretty much our best forward and he's started from the bench numerous times this year...

Interestingly PJ Marsh hasn't been named in the Queensland Cup this weekend.

Call up for the Broncs maybe? Unless he's injured again..

With JT out, we have to be on guard - the players will stand up without him knowing they can't rely on him. Also, its the local derby - always alot of passion. They'll try hard to roll us.

Deadset though, if we lose this game - I can almost say I will not watch another Broncos game this year.

I say almost.... probably still would though..

Remember in 06 against the Cowboys...we scored the first try then JT was ruled out with injury...I thought we were a shoo-in to win the game...I think the Broncos did too cos they went to sleep, the Cowboys lifted and we were smoked. Of course Matt Bowen & Paul Bowman was in the side etc...

Yeah I was there that night and it was an absolute shocker. Thurston's injury actually inspired them and they completely outplayed us afterwards. Of course there are many more key players on the sidelines this time but Nth Qld can't be underestimated. Whenever the draw is released this is the game the club and the fans pencil in right away. It's going to be a very tricky night up there. We should win but we can't afford to take them lightly.
