I'd written him off after seeing him in the trials and then putting in what looked to me like a half-arsed effort at the Magpies but he played pretty well when he took Jamayne's place, and he got hyped to buggery by commentators.

Lest we forget.

but we also forget he's a total rocks and diamonds player... like the guy we booted out of FB to accommodate him.

Isaako booted himself out of FB.

In fact, booting things out was pretty much the only thing you could rely on him doing consistently.
hahaha, true, but Niu isnt any better with his consistently inconsistent approach. we just need some fucking surety at the back

Yep, not having surety in three of the four spine positions is still going to cause major problems this year.

Stop with the Tesi slander. He is by far the best fullback this club has to offer if they aren’t willing to play Selwyn there. Look at his age not many fullbacks do as well as he finished the season at his age. Your expecting the complete package. The man grew in confidence and improved in so many areas last year. Whether we want to believe it or not that also includes defence (more organisation than anything but it counts). I think he deserves the right to that jersey and for blokes who seriously reckon Herbie is the answer at fullback just remember odds are that he will be elsewhere next year. No fucken point. It’s the same bloody idiots who are grilling Tesi for not being the complete package but **** me Herbie isn’t the complete package at centre with a much more simple and defined role and expectation. Herbie in my opinion is only at this level if he plays centre, which in his fairness he does well. Seriously sucks for Cobbo but I watched Herbie stink it up on the wing a couple times last year and no way in hell is he playing fullback at this club. When Deine is ready which it just about seems time Herbie needs to **** off at his asking price.

Stop with the Tesi slander lol. Are you his fucking minder or something? Dude was total rocks and diamonds last year. Sorry you're so fragile the reality hurts.

Player Reviews
1. Isaako _ pretty bloody average
2. Manu _ quiet, didn't get many opportunities
3. Lee _ serviceable & dependable
4. Mariner _ Needs a year in QCUP to mature, but he's red hot
5. Pereira _ really good game from him
6. Mam _ he's ready
7. Martin _ pretty good but still down the pecking order
8. Flegler _ A class above in his short stint
9. Paix _ He was okay, but team was a bit directionless with him
10. Palasia _underwhelming
11. Piakura _ also underwhelming
12. Hosking _ lots of good work in D, average in attack
13. Hetherington _ short stint early, very good

14. Gamble _ provided mongrel & direction but overplayed his hand
15. Walters _ 14's his to lose, he was impressive
16. Oates _ worst on field
17. Jensen _ quiet achiever
18. Nakubuwai _ give this man a contract, MOTM for me
19. Amey _ also awesome, for an unsigned prop
20. Te Kura _ Big body, bit dopey, but a good prospect

I'm seriously surprised not more has been said of Nakubuwai's game, I've never heard of him before but he was Haas-like. Multiple good hit ups per set, and strong in D.

Nakubuwai only did that on a week training and game too- Smith got him a week at Broncos and a game last week.

He got a run last year too but got injured and couldn't finish his trial.

But its not fucken reality what’s the point of giving shit to our best fucken fullback. Not going to fix the problem you fucken clown. He is 20 years old and you expect him to be fucken James Tedesco or perfect. As you fucken said he was rocks and Diamonds. It was at the end of the season he was the Diamonds was it not so shut the **** up and be positive and happy for once that our team is in a relatively good place. But no you all have to be fucken negative about him before he even gets a chance to prove himself. You lot did the same thing with Carrigan, very quick to forget the good things they have done and continue to do for this club. I love how every other player gets the development card yet Niu is one of the few players out there giving a good account for themselves even though he has had very little especially in the fullback spot. Yes eventually Cobbo will be fullback but the reality is he is not right now so stop fucken complaining about not having a top notch fullback and be grateful that we have a good enough fullback to continue to improve and assist us in to the finals as all of you predict. Alongside Gamble, Cobbo and Haas he was instrumental to last seasons turn around. So **** right off cause someone called you out for being an absolute **** about a player who put the hard yards in and improved yet you still want to judge him from before.

Pretty accurate. I think you’re being a bit harsh on Oates. I don’t remember him doing anything wrong, he just kinda didn’t do anything. He was playing centre which was weird within itself and they go no ball down that side.

Jensen was pretty good but he seemed to end up on his back a lot.

I thought Palasia was decent too. Nothing great nothing too bad.

Fair enough, maybe it's my high expectations of Oatesy... I like the guy but he didn't really get involved
