My only concern about mam is that it is incredibly easy for opposition fans to come up with a slanderous nickname. I hope he can weather the storm.

Now I have had my fucken rant. What about Ezra. I feel like we are just waiting for the end of the year to pretend like he will be any more ready than he already is. Why not put him in and give him and Reynolds 3 years to have a genuine crack at a premiership whilst 1,9 fall into place.
With Mam's ability to just 'know where to be' with support play etc he will have a field day with guys like Kotoni and Capewell. Then throw in Reynolds short kicking game and we've seen Nui put in some nice little kicks here and there.
Herbie also has the ability to break the line as done Cobbo and then Payne Haas does what Payne does.
If everyone does their job Mam will be rookie of the year with 12+ tries.
If everyone struggles like previous years Gamble or Kelly would be the better choice as their more mature players.

I just can't...how did your brain even remotely come up with this as remotely anything to do with professional sport?

Also dropping his sippy cup at half time and missing the flying aeroplane of mashed peas at dinner.

Thinking about the game today, i think we can safely say pretty much everyone had a good game, but i dont think anyone was really outstanding. We need some of these blokes to really step up in the next 2 games to give Kevvie some big headaches if we want to lift our standards from last year. The signs are very promising though, i just dont think i'm going to get too carried away with the win last night.
Definitely shouldn’t get carried away, especially considering about 12 or more of the players won’t even be in the team for round 1.

Not really much more they could’ve done. They were shaky at the start but settled into it and then bullied an outclassed opponent.

I’m definitely not locking in the premiership based on that game but it absolutely could’ve gone worse.

I disagree to an extent though, I think Mam and Walters put forward really strong accounts of themselves, as did Periera.

The best part for me is that our C team just had our biggest win in about 5 years. That will put some good pressure on the starters next week and if they do well then the you’d expect the same for the final trial and round 1. That will build a lot of confidence and momentum.

I agree. I think Kev and his management team should be congratulated. Not on results (just yet) but on how well they have turned the club around. Now the mood of confidence is tangible. We have players genuinely competing for spots. This in turn lifts the expected standards right across the board and instills a greater level of respect for the club and the jersey.

And to think it was done by "letting' some of our 'better' players go is even more extraordinary.

The good lord willing and the creek don't rise - I can see us having a year to savour.

From a confidence / skill level, I think Ezra is ready too. He has it. He seems to most exciting prospect too.

Only concern is whether the week to week grind of proper NRL will diminish his sparkle.

And how is easy it is for other teams to make a slanderous nickname for him.

Gee Foxsports write some real crap on their website, a big “scoop” about Walters needing to deliver after getting the roster he wanted, thanks for the breaking news, big scoop that one.

You don’t reckon there are about half a dozen other clubs in the same predicament? Of course it’s about us, as we’re the club most people care about, even the people who despise the Broncos are watching us as closely as their own club.

Okay, spit it out.

Yes they do. But **** the other clubs.

I'm more frothing at the headlines.

* Wam, bam, thank you Mam.
* Who's the Mam?
* It's boys against Mam.
* Mam of the people.
* Ezra anything he can't do?

No one earned dick that counts towards round one. At best they've earned another trial, or ruled themselves out. Walters get a stint in the halves. So does Mam. Oates hasn't really had his trial yet, but Periera deserves another shot at the wing. I would think of the trials like knockouts. Let's see who's left standing at the end.
